    Toilet flange height

It's been a while but I'm finally getting to it. So it appears that the height of the flange is about 3/16 inch above the cement board. The ring seems to fit around it okay. The finished floor is about an 1/8 inch above the top of the flange or ring. This will work, yes?

    Shut off valve

Not sure what a tempering valve is. The black pipe going across the top is the cold water I believe. the other one coming down states 'hot pottable'. so if I shut off those two, I should be all set. Yes? Barry

    Trap under tub?

One more question on this please... Do I need to move that trap exactly Underneath where the new tub drain is going? I have a new Kohler tub and the drain hole is some 4 inches further out and a couple inches to the right As you can see in the picture. So I was curious if I could come down...

    Trap under tub?

Yeah that's what I figured. Someone had told me that they had never seen a trap below a tub but everything I've read says that there should be, which makes sense.

    Trap under tub?

Hi all... I'm putting in a new tub and Looking at the plumbing below, there's a trap. Now I have to move the plumbing in 4 or 5 inches because of the configuration of the new tub. Now do I need a trap under my tub? The line Going up is the vent pipe. Thanks, Barry

    Toilet flange height

Look like the ring will sit perfectly on top of the Durock. I can then tile right to the edge of the ring, yes?

    Toilet flange height

Thanks John! Never thought of that but it is quite logical. I do have the ring - somewhere I think - . That piece allows for attaching the toilet to the flange, yes? That might also raise the total height of the flange.

    Toilet flange height

Hello, Remodeling upstairs bath and its been going on for the longest time. Anyway, as it stands, the toilet flange sits about 5/8" off the floor of which is 2 layers of 1/2" plywood. Now I'm going to put down 1/2" Durock, then 1/4" tile. My thought was to install the toilet on top of the...

    Basement toilet - intermittent clog?

Thanks for the response. Ater renting one from HD 3 times in the past couple years (once this week), the handheld one not doing the job, and paying a big number to a plumber 3 years ago, I bought the K400 yesterday. Worked great. I think the clog was close in proximity to the toilet...

    Basement toilet - intermittent clog?

Hello, The other day the toilet was not draining, so I rented a snake from HD and after an hour or so of pushing the line through the main, the toilet flushed without backing up. Today after using the toilet... I'm using the sink and I hear gurgling sound and saw a few bubbles coming in the...

    Buderus oil burnner error

Hey all.. Hope I'm posting in the right place. My 2 year old Buderus (Logamatic R-2107) is spitting out a 'HDW PROD ERR' message on the display panel. This is an oil fired burner. I have two zones and when either zone requests heat, the TACO Zone Valve Control's red light illuminates for...

    hot water baseboard parts

Hello, I'm hoping someone may know this. For hot water baseboard heating elements, there is a metal 'holder' that attaches to the bottom of the fins that sits on the brackets that attach to the back cover. I'm wondering if any of you know where I can purchase some. During remodeling...

    removal of cast iron tub

Thanks... a "crapload of silicone" it is unless I remove that length of baseboard and use radiant heat under the floor. That baseboard unit also stops me from installing a 32" tub as opposed to a 30"
