Installing a toilet, weird question about flange

We've got a house on an ancient slab (no drains, etc.) - actually on multiple slabs because the place was added onto a few times. I installed a toilet 5 years ago and the thing never leaked - but some water drained into a low spot on the concrete (from the kitchen, I think) and there was a...

Newly sweat pipe had drip, now no drip - I'm lost

I'm thinking you've gotta be right - but it sure as hell looked like water. I did NOT wipe the pipe before turning on the water. It's like the Twilight Zone around here. Like I said, I turned the water on and had zero leaks. Twenty minutes later, I walk in there and water is beading up on...

Newly sweat pipe had drip, now no drip - I'm lost

I did what you said, but, trying to see if I could wick some water produced nothing. Nothing appears to be leaking - and these pipe are reasonably straight - not like the thing I posted the other day (see pic). And still not leaking. Man - this is weird. I absolutely cannot wick any water...

Newly sweat pipe had drip, now no drip - I'm lost

This is my second post and, as I said in the first, I have no illusions about being a plumber - fix things around the house, and that's it. Amateur plumber - coupling at angle

It IS terrible....but it''s the worst mess I've ever made - I was tired, achey, and burnt out. We just don't have the money to pay a plumber. I've got a lot of respect for professional craftsmen and they're absolutely worth the money they charge - unfortunately, we just don't have the money....

Amateur plumber - coupling at angle

That was like that - I didn't do the vertical pipe nor the elbow. That's old stuff. Yep - that damned thing makes me nervous. It MIGHT last forever, but, we're on a slab and a water leak is more like a house fire in terms of damage......ugh. I think I'll just redo the darned thing. Haha...

Amateur plumber - coupling at angle

I'm a self-taught "non-plumber" but I'm, generally, pretty good around the house - and our house is so screwed up that anything I do makes it better than it was... Tonight, running out of pipe, I didn't push some 1/2 inch copper all the way into a ball valve and I think that it caused the pipe...
