    Moen Volume Control Cartridge Replacement

Can you provide me with the part number of the tool? If it doesn't have a part number, can you post a photo?

    Moen Volume Control Cartridge Replacement

No, that's not the right tool. I have that tool which is much smaller and used on sink faucets.

    Moen Volume Control Cartridge Replacement

My shower is dripping and the volume control cartridge needs to be replaced. A plumber looked at it but said he couldn't fix it because the large nut requires a special tool which is difficult to obtain. The photo below shows the nut which is circular with two flat sides (highlighted in red...

    Connecting Brass Shut-off to PVC

Thanks for the table. It's good to know that galvanic corrosion won't be an issue.

    Connecting Brass Shut-off to PVC

The use of the adapter is interesting but wouldn't there be an electrolysis issue between the copper adapter and brass shutoff?

    Connecting Brass Shut-off to PVC

Not sure how many rotations I gave it but it was cinched down pretty tight. I wonder if I damaged the PVC threads.

    Connecting Brass Shut-off to PVC

I have several shut-offs valves in my yard like the one pictured. They all have slight leaks and the valve will unscrew itself from the PVC when I try to open the faucet. What is the correct method for connecting a brass shut-off valve to a threaded PVC pipe?

    Dual Water Heaters

Thanks to everyone for your comments. It looks like pulling the breaker on the right tank is the way to go. The recirc pump is a Watts unit which I only turn on when we have guest staying with us as the guest bath is on the opposite end of the house from the water heaters.

    Dual Water Heaters

Here's a photo of the setup. Cold water comes into the tank on the right and exits the left tank through a recirculating pump.

    Dual Water Heaters

My wife and I purchased a house that has two 80 gallon water heaters connected in series. The house isn't that big and it's just the two of us so we can easily get by with just one of the heaters. If I want to remove one of the heaters from the system, can I just turn off the power to it or do I...

Moen Volume Control - Is there a special tool for this?

When you say adjustable wrench, do you mean like a Crescent wrench? I've got one of those but there's no way that would fit in there. Taking off the ring will not provide much more room.

Moen Volume Control - Is there a special tool for this?

I assume it's Moen because I sent the photo to Moen who then identified and sent me the required cartridge. I'm not familiar with Exact Temp but it's part of Moen shower system TS270 in which the volume control and temp control are separate.

Moen Volume Control - Is there a special tool for this?

My Moen shower is leaking so I need to replace the cartridge. In order to remove the cartridge (hex nut in foreground), the large round nut in back with two flat sides needs to be removed first. The problem is that I can't get a wrench around this nut. The opening of the escutchon ring is 2-1/8...
