    Sump Pump Switch sticking

Thanks, I do hate the short cycling of this pump, considering it runs for 9 seconds and shuts off. In the summer it will turn on every 25 seconds....on for 9 then off for 16....so that switch sees a lot of activity. It is finally slowing down now that winter is here. Every 3-4 minutes. And...

    Sump Pump Switch sticking

I have a Zoeller M53. Twice in the last month it has stuck in the float up position, so the pump keeps running. I think that is a good thing as I would hate for the pump to not kick on, my sump pit would be full and overfilling in 20 minutes if I didn't have my Liberty water powered backup...

Noise from water running through lines in walls

Thanks Don, I think that would be easiest, but like most everything else in this house, I have had to repair stuff. The foam would make it much harder to repair the shower/tub valves. But would be the quietest.

Noise from water running through lines in walls

I bought a house last year and it has a main bath that is adjacent to a living room. Whenever the water runs in the bath it is very loud in the living room - right on the other side of the wall. Doesn't matter if it is sink, toilet or shower. It is loud. What options do I have to quiet the...

Klunkless Check Valve for sump pump

I did not raise the check valve, I simply put in a Zoeller Quiet Check Valve. I do not have a weep hole, however, my Zoeller M53 pump is always submersed in a few inches of water. I also have a Liberty water powered backup installed above the Zoeller. Quiet as a mouse..

Where to Discharge Sump Pump in Winter

Last Winter I moved to South Dakota, I live in a flat region with lots of surface ground water and water flowing into my sump pit. Think prairie potholes and large flat expanses of land with no where for the water to go... The sump runs all the time, most of the winter and constantly in the...

Sump pump died, got new one installed, running but not draining cellar.

can you go outside and see where it is draining too? Maybe it is just running outside and right back into the ground near your house and going back into the basement. Call the same plumber. Hold your payment plan over his head as leverage.

Klunkless Check Valve for sump pump

OK will try, thanks Almost time to switch my drain over to the winter position. Valves allow me to divert it to my septic when the drain lines in my yard can freeze.

Klunkless Check Valve for sump pump

if i do this, doesn't all the water in the drain pipe below the check valve run back through the pump?

Klunkless Check Valve for sump pump

About three months ago I installed a Liberty backup pump and at the same time I changed the check valve on my main sump pump. It was a Zoeller green one and noisy. I switched to brand called Klunkless, it was quiet for about 3 months, now it is noisy. It gets a lot of use. After a rain my...

    Sump Pump Options

Not a plumber but I installed a Liberty backup pump. It works like a venturi off your public water supply. Won't work if you are on a well. You need electricity to run your well pump, if power goes out you will lose that and your sump pump. The Liberty pumps are cheap, about $160 on Amazon...

    Expansion tank

I have always had city water in the 4 houses I have lived in (all had gas water heaters) and none had an expansion tank. The water pressure at the spigots in my current house is 60 psi. Do I need an expansion tank? Why do you say the black poly line will be an issue? That is a 2 inch line...

    Expansion tank

OK, Thanks. I will find out the pressure of the city system at my house. I know it picks up a few pounds running down my driveway, it drops about 30 feet from the meter set.

    Expansion tank

I am confused as to what they call a closed system and the need for an expansion tank. Currently i have a lp gas 40 gallon water heater tank. no expansion tank, been in use for 10 years, no issues. Switching to electric 80 gallon heat pump water heater. Keep reading about expansion tanks...
