    Outside Gas Pipe

I would think that a standard city natural gas supply would be pretty well known, wouldn’t it? Or does it vary that much from city to city?

    Outside Gas Pipe

That’s why I am having a master plumber check the work and hook everything up. I can safely do a lot, but I don’t want to go beyond my limits.

    Outside Gas Pipe

I suspect that the run will be about 40 feet to the first tap for the grill, and another 30 feet or so to the end and second tap for the generator. The master plumber who will inspect everything and tie it in to the gas supply says that I need to use galvanized since it will be on an outside wall.

    Outside Gas Pipe

Good point. I want to be sure to have tri power because we tend to have hurricanes here. Longest we were without power was 13 days in 2008. If the gas cans and propane tanks run out, I want options.

    Outside Gas Pipe

I want to run galvanized pipe from the natural gas meter at the front of my house around the back to hook it up to two appliances. First, I want a tap that I can come off of to power a gas grill. Second, farther down the pipe run I want a second tap to power a portable generator in case of...

    Need Faucet Advice

Zanne, my faucet is more like the third one you pictured. I guess my next step is to try to take out the faucet and try to disassemble it and clean it out. Already took off the "spout" and couldn't see how to get the rest of it out. I wish my wife would have wanted an old time faucet that I...

    Need Faucet Advice

Thanks for all of the replies. I'm afraid that replacing all of the lines isn't an option, at least not until I win the lottery. Replacing lines means tearing out walls (some of them brick), tearing out tile in bathrooms, replacing all lines, redoing all walls, brick, tile, etc. Sounds like many...

I'd love to figure out how to get those darn things out.

    Need Faucet Advice

Uuuhhh, Ok, help me out here. If the lines are the problem, then why do I have great pressure everywhere else? It's not like I have 1/2" galvanized in the kitchen, and 3/4" PVC everywhere else. What am I missing?

    City Water Well-- Houston, Texas

    Damn government!

    Need Faucet Advice

1/2" galvanized lines, but the pressure is good everywhere else. As a matter of fact, before we remodeled the kitchen and we had ancient faucets there, we had great pressure, so I suspect that it's just a faucet issue. If I knew how to remove the restrictor, I could try that, and if it messes up...

    City Water Well-- Houston, Texas

I would love to have a water well in my backyard for emergencies where the city water isn't operational. I live in the city and they frown upon private wells. Water table here is very shallow, probably only 20 feet or so, so drilling shouldn't be difficult, except for the fact that we have very...

    Need Faucet Advice

I want (need) to replace my kitchen faucet with something that has a higher flow rate. City water pressure isn't a problem, other faucets in the house run fine. Plenty of flow to kitchen supply lines, so that's not the problem. It's just the danged new lower flow faucets. Here is what I am...
