1 1/2" drain pipe - ok to be shared among kitchen sink + laundry sink?

The bottom of the 1 1/2" galvanize pipe for the existing kitchen sink seems to be a threaded end but it goes go a CI hub (old house so it's CI main pipe). Not sure if it's in fact joined w/ lead to the hub. Attached photo: So the P-trap and the trap arm for the laundry sink needs to be...

1 1/2" drain pipe - ok to be shared among kitchen sink + laundry sink?

Hi, I have an existing 1 1/2" galvanized drain pipe servicing the kitchen sink. I want to add a wall mount laundry sink in the garage that is behind the kitchen wall, so it would be sharing this 1 1/2" galvanized drain pipe. Is 1 1/2" galvanized drain pipe good enough to serve both sinks, or...

toilet drain : 90 deg bend vs. 2x45 deg bend

Hi, The line you crossed out is the existing main line where the rest of the bathrooms's drains (tub, shower, sink) come into, I don't think I can throw all that away. Here's the drawing hope this clarifies.

toilet drain : 90 deg bend vs. 2x45 deg bend

The main stack (2" vent) is about 2 feet away. I've updated the picture in the original post to include the main stack. A quick question: the max distance from a drain to the nearest vent needs to be within 5 feet. Does that refer to the actual horizontal run thru' the piping (in this...

toilet drain : 90 deg bend vs. 2x45 deg bend

Hi, Trying to set up new drain for toilet. Going to do a branch from main using a combination wye (horizontal) and then turn up to the flange where the toilet is. My question is, does it drain better to split into 2 x 45 deg bends vs. a 90 deg long turn elbow where it goes up to meet the...

how to install gas shutoff valve flush in wall behind gas range

Is it acceptable to run the gas line horizontally (across the studs) to the left of the wall after the riser and the gas shutoff valve at the end (on the left)? That way the shutoff valve would be far away from the pressure regulator. There would be a lot more room.

how to install gas shutoff valve flush in wall behind gas range

I'm trying to find a way to keep from moving where the supply gas line comes up from the crawspace. As you can see the install manual recommends area height for gas valve/outlet to be between 7" to 15". I can at least lower the gas valve location to that level. However, the gas valve is...

how to install gas shutoff valve flush in wall behind gas range

Hi there, Just installed a gas range, but realize the gas shutoff valve is 3" out from the wall (26 1/2" height) so the gas range cannot be flush to the wall. Is there a way to modify the gas shutoff valve such that it's inside the wall/flush along the wall so the gas range can be...

I tried rotating the chrome pipe and it just cracked. Any suggestions? Heat it up a bit before trying it again?

Bathroom Sink P-Trap - Welded connection to wall plumbing?

Hi, Have a question about this spot in the bathroom sink where it seems the P-trap connection to the wall plumbing seems to be welded and I am not able to remove it. Two questions: 1. Is the current P-trap connection funnctionally workable (does it still perform adequately as a P-trap)...
