Handle too loose after replacing Symmons temptrol shower cartridge

Thanks for the recommendation. I called the vendor of the valve trim, Waterworks, and they said that there is a packing nut that is supposed to provide additional resistance to the valve spindle when the whole thing is assembled. I hadn't put the whole thing back together yet; when I did, the...

Handle too loose after replacing Symmons temptrol shower cartridge

I just installed a new cartridge spindle assembly (TA-10) in my Symmons pressure balanced shower valve. After replacement, the spindle is now too loose, so that the weight of the lever handle causes it to droop to the bottom position, making it hard to set the temperature mix. The old spindle...

    Can someone identify these fittings

Okay, so I tried to loosen these things, but neither the smaller nor larger piece would budge. I'm afraid of what will happen if I manage to loosen one, so I think I'll wait for the plumber when the renovations get under way.

    Can someone identify these fittings

Can someone please tell me...

Add washing machine hookup away from plumbing riser in high-rise apartment

Thanks very much for your help, everyone. It sounds like I should be very circumspect when considering apartments that do not already have a washer hookup.

Add washing machine hookup away from plumbing riser in high-rise apartment

I'm in the market for a new apartment in NYC, where having a washer/dryer in your apartment is highly desirable. Some of the apartments listed are in buildings that allow washer/dryer hookups, but I would like to know if it is possible to add a washer hookup, when the location is not directly...
