How will I know the bearings will need replacement? Will the motor make any noises?

goulds HSC20 underwater. Is it damaged?

Last night our 5000 gal tank overflowed. It flooded an area that housed an goulds HSC20 3 ph booster pump. The pump was under 5 ft of water for some time. At least a couple of hours. There are no fuses blown. The model of HSC20 we have is the totally enclosed version I think. What will...

How long do HSC20D pumps last? Can they be rebuilt?

Where I live wells are not common, so prices are through the roof.

How long do HSC20D pumps last? Can they be rebuilt?

Well this pump has extra features that are not standard. Single phase runs about $800.00 -1000.00. This unit is 3 phase which is a $200.00 upgrade. It has a totally enclosed motor which is a $200.00 upgrade. You can find them for 1200.00 if you shop around. This pump is also a multi-stage...

How long do HSC20D pumps last? Can they be rebuilt?

You are right this is not a well pump but a surface pump on our well system. The shop repaired the pump. The pump had a blown main seal and the pump was filled with debris. The motor bearing was locking up so that was replaced. Total cost was $260. Not bad for a repair since a new pump is...

    Variable torque VS. Constant torque

The VFD Drive on our system is constant torque drive. Apparently it is the wrong type of drive for our application.

    Variable torque VS. Constant torque

I just wanted to know for a centrifugal water pump what is better. The VFD controlling the pump is designed for constant torque.

Lense VFD M3220B failed within 2yrs of service

Our system is complicated. Our well pumps water into a 5000 gallon storage tank. The VFD dies not control the well pump but it controls a surface pump which transport the water. The well pump is not the issue. It is the surface pump controlled by the vfd.

    VFD help/advice

There is too much cost involved to change everything. Does anyone know the parameters needed on a vfd to run a goulds hsc20d pump?

How long do HSC20D pumps last? Can they be rebuilt?

I removed the pump and it does not look as bad after I pressure washed it. The pipes are rusted but only in the inside. I found a pump shop that said they charge $25 to check it out. Goulds pumps stated that they know of these pumps lasting up to the range of 25 years. However our water isn't...

    VFD help/advice

Our vfd is a lenze m3220b. 240v 3 phase input. 2hp 3 phase output. It failed again after 2 yrs. of service. The drive is running a HSC20d pump. 1.2 SF, 6.4 Amp motor. The bridge rectifyier failed on the VFD. Service to the property is 240V 1 phase. My question is can I use a 240v 1 phase...

pressure loss + pump stops + draws power

I do not have that much experience with submersible pumps. I mostly work with above ground jet pumps. But I do work with wells and have an electrical background. Your pump looks like it has a buildup of rust on the connections. This will cause an extremely high resistance on the load you are...

How long do HSC20D pumps last? Can they be rebuilt?

The pump is 10 years old. I just want to know if I could refurbish the pump currently in service. The gavanized pipe connected to it is in bad shape. I think if I try to unscrew the pipe on the in and outlet it will just break off. The check valve needs to be replaced and is in the same...

Lense VFD M3220B failed within 2yrs of service

Hi, A while ago I left a post about a well system not able to build enough pressure. I just left it as is. A couple days ago the VFD completely failed. The fuses blew on the line in side. I belive the rectifier failed. Same problem as before. The system does have a line reactor installed...

Well pressure tops out at 68psi. How do I increase pressure?

The other issue is that these wells need service. A float that might go bad or a galv steel pipe that is old and rusted could cause a catastrophic failure. Well companies should have a service interval. Just like cars do. Car manufactures have a level one service and a level two service at a...

Well pressure tops out at 68psi. How do I increase pressure?

To be honest the cost of service was way to high. What is a fair price to replace a pressure tranducer for a VFD system? There are manufactures that offer 10 year warranties on their pressure tranducers. However tranducers that were used that do not offer a warranty. Or if there was a...

    Aquastat

Looking at the guage of the wire, find out how many amps this pump draws. Electrical outlets are rated for 15A 14 guage. The wires in the picture look like they are 2-4 guage. This can be a fire hazzard if that is the case. That means this pump needs a dedicated circuit that has the proper...

    Water Softener Installation?

Softeners are not usually manufactured for the diy homeowner. However most homeowners can easily hook them up. There are several ways to hook them up and several optional features as add ons. That is why a kit to hook them up is not included. You do not want to use galv steel with copper or...
