    Built in back flow preventer

Very true. Hopefully the op checked with his building codes and met requirements.

    DIY small Lawn sprinkler system

I cringe at the thought of an automatic irrigation system being run off a faucet. Rather see you tie in at the water line leading to the house and put in a ball valve and drain. Then use these for electric valves and back flow. http://www.irritrol.com/valves/valves_2700s.html If you are running...

Seeking advice on automating a lawn sprinkler system on a pump

Little advice. Get a pump or electrician to handle the relay part.

    Built in back flow preventer

What brand? It shouldn't be doing that. I would screw the cap off and take a look at the back flow diaphragm just to be sure it doesn't have a slight imperfection. If its coming out of the threads then maybe a little Teflon tape would help. But if that's a new anti siphon valve it should be...

Install Looped Mainline for Drip Irrigation 1000'

Well the op seems to have abandoned us so we aren't getting some needed info. If you are lurking I hope you weigh back in. A looped main does not double the volume. It does help make the pressure the same through the whole loop. If a source is providing 12gpm looping the main isn't going to...

Install Looped Mainline for Drip Irrigation 1000'

I think you might be missing the point. You will always have pressure loss and it can be mathematically determined. The need for pressure in this case is much less than running a golf course rotor for sure. A drip emitter uses very little water but I've seen drip systems that used a 100 gallons...

    Prepping for winter?

Little late to weigh in but I did irrigation service in Dallas for 30 years and nobody blew out irrigation lines. The south Texas freeze line is what? 3" at most maybe. The best thing you can do is to water well before a hard freeze. Water in the soil helps insulate both the pipes and plants...

Install Looped Mainline for Drip Irrigation 1000'

Your most limiting factor is your supply. If its looped 1000' meaning your furthest point from the supply is 500' you need to figure your pressure loss based on 500'. with drip you only need 30psi at most. A few numbers and questions. Is this coming off a water meter? If so what size? Have you...

    Hot water circulating pump question

Thanks for the responses. I think I may go the timer route. Get an intermatic timer and set it to run during peak hours. my problem may be eliminated with the aqua therm but this pipe is woefully undersized for this building and the copper was wearing very thin. The plumber believes my problems...

    Hot water circulating pump question

I part time manage an old hospital built in 1913 but converted to condominiums in Central Montana. I have duct tape stories I'll share some other time but slowly I'm convincing them to spend money and upgrade some issues. This was my latest upgrade. We had a situation where we get constant...

    Champion Anti-Siphon Valves?

Ditto.....Put them on Ebay. I've had a demand for those on older systems many times. Codes have changed since I sold my biz but I suspect a lot are being repaired rather than being upgraded to code.
