Get your Main building scoped for roots or check the vent on the roof for blockages. This way you can rule these out.

4 Hot Water Tanks and 4 leaks

Switch back the plumbing the way it was originally. If you use a check valve, you close the system. Water has no where to expand. An expansion tank needs to then be installed. Many plumbers miss this simple fact.

    Toilet flush problems..........GRR!

Seen deodorant sticks get stuck in the toilet usually dropped from a shelf over the Toilet. The plumber used a piece of mirror to locate the clog and burned the deodorant stick in half to get it out.

    septic odour issue

Sheri, I stand by my post. Get a different plumbing contractor to Take a look at it. As far as the lack of cleanouts, I don't care what The local codes are. When you have that many turns you need cleanouts. I've talked to many professional plumbers who are close friends, and it is code Maybe...

Toilet auger won't go in far

Try this! Tie a string to the end of the auger, when you hit a bend pull the string toward you To bend the auger in the direction you want it to go. Ridgid had a you tube video showing how to do this. Cheers

    Banging when opening/closing faucet...

I was doing a little reading and found out that water hammer can occur when the city supply feeding a home Has a leak allowing air into the system before going to the hwt. Perhaps this is why you hear nothing when you turned the tank off.

    P-trap placement

Since this is a DIY, as you can tell from the lack of a proper clean-out, most DIY'ers tend to glue those fittings. In the pic it looks like a brownish substance is on the threads. Cannot tell for sure, but if it is, it just makes sense to change it out while its in the open, besides even if you...

    Black particles in water

Driller1 has the right idea. How high is the well from ground level? Do not remove the filter, it needs to be there to catch toilet paper etc, before it enters the pump. The filter needs to be cleaned often. The water goes through the filter first before it goes to the pump

    septic odour issue

Sheri, I must say, that even tho its a newer place, it looks like a novice did the plumbing. I don't like the set up. With all those turns and bends, you typically need clean outs. You're missing quite a few. Would you be able to take pics further away to get more in the pictures. drain pipes...

How to mothball a hot water heater?

When relighting the pilot flame remember to hold down the button for about 5-10 seconds after the pilot light is lit

    P-trap placement

Lets say the drain clogs. That trap doesn't have a clean out. If this set up works for you then keep it the same. But I would definitely remove the trap and put in a trap with a clean out. Might as well do it know rather than later. Those fittings might come apart, but some people tend to glue...

    Banging when opening/closing faucet...

Sounds like you have to much water pressure coming in. You need to put a regulator on the water line to decrease the pressure. Have the water pressure tested before tearing anything apart. Water pressure should be between 60-75 psi. It could be you have a pressure regulator, and it has now...

does this sound expensive for a water heater?

The high efficiency furnace is vented out the side of the house. If the hwt is gas, it is still vented out the roof's chimney. When you have this type of setup, the flue coming out of the roof needs to be smaller. Just to clarify.

    Help!!! Situation is Escalding!

Could this be part of the cause. When there are multple bathrooms there will be multiple traps. If you do not use certain bathrooms, the water in the traps evaporate. When this happens sewer gases will come into the home. I suggest using these fixtures more frequently to keep the traps full of...

Toilet requires 2 flushes or 1 long hold...

There is a product out there from Oatey. Its a powder that you put in the toilet and turns the water to a gel that can then be scooped up, if you wanted to go that route. Liquilock When you replace the lever inside the toilet remember that the tank must be empty and the valve below the...
