Will a shower diverter affect the water flow from this shower head

When I get the diverter I'll try without the O ring and let you know.

Will a shower diverter affect the water flow from this shower head

Do you mean the grey rubber ring in this pic? It seems contoured to seal against the ball in the other picture and to provide friction against the ball to keep the head in position.

Will a shower diverter affect the water flow from this shower head

I have a Waterpik shower head attached to a standard shower arm. One pic shows the head. The other shows with the spray part of the head removed so you can see the size of the orifice that the water flows through out of the arm. Measuring the orifice it is 5/16 inch diameter. If I attach a...

Washing machine hookup valves and hoses

I have a washing machine with a pretty standard hookup (see pics). It looks like there are flats for a wrench on both the faucet itself and the fitting that it threads into, so does the faucet just unthread from the fitting? And can the 2 faucets then be replaced with a lever type dual shutoff...

Help please! How to remove mystery faucet

Is that a nut under the loosened escutcheon in the top view? What does it do?

    Shower/Tub valve

You said "...you go to put a new one in and it won't because that plastic is still in there." Sounds like you already have a replacement. Take a picture of that.

    recirc pump, remote control

Can't say that I fully understand what the OP is trying to do, but FWIW might this circuitry be useful: Full disclosure: I tried to build this and have not been able to get it to work, but this is probably just me!

    Stuck/rusty Kitchen faucet nut?

I'm not sure about the orientation of things but can you get in with some type of cold chisel/punch to tap (parallel to the countertop) on one of those nut "ears"?

    Eastern vs. Brasscraft supply shutoff

I have an old under-sink sweated shutoff that says Eastern on the handle. The washer is evidently gone as it will not shut off water flow. I'm concerned about sweating on a new valve as the previous owner put a lot of spray foam insulation around it which I think is quite flammable...

Repair defective shutoff valve but not shutoff supply?

This post may cause forum members to ask if I am nuts, but here goes anyway! I want to replace a bathroom sink faucet in a condo unit of a multi-unit building. There is no water shutoff for the unit, only a main supply shutoff for the entire building. If I have to shutoff the main supply, I...

Gluing the last piece of ABS

Thanks for the advice! 1) I think I have clearance for a long sweep 90. 2) It's OK to just push the U fitting onto the nipple and return 90 without a twist too?

Gluing the last piece of ABS

I'm plumbing the drain for a shower which consists of several short pieces of pipe and several fittings (Short pipe from the drain to a p-trap. 90 street el out of the p-trap. One foot pipe from street el to a 90 elbow. One foot pipe out of 90 elbow to a coupling. Coupling to a one foot pipe...

    ABS shower drain fittings

I'm plumbing an ABS shower drain and have seen p-traps with unions and also p-traps that use a hard-connected street el on the output side. It seems to me the trap with union might make the installation a bit easier, but are there other reasons to choose one over the other?

    moen cartridge removal problem

I was also having a problem removing a Moen cartridge so I made a little tool out of a 1" copper elbow. You can see how it is cut from the pic. A dowel in the uncut end allowed me to twist the cartridge and the bevels in the brass body effectively lever it out.

    Fiberglass tub removal

I looked more closely and the tub has feet that are secured by screws from under the sub floor.

    Fiberglass tub removal

I'm trying to remove a fiberglass soaking tub (without damaging it) in order to replace with a stall shower. I've removed all material (tile and sheetrock) around the tub to the point where the tub should only be attached to the drain, but the tub does no seem to move even the slightest bit in...

    Removing a shower vent

Thanks for the response. I would be capping the short vertical drop of the Tee so there would probably be about a 2 inch deep "basin" (roughly the depth of the cap) where rainwater could collect. Should I just cut out the Tee and replace it with a straight pipe? Or is there any kind of plug I...
