    Foot valve?

I have a pressure gauge plumbed into my well set up. It’s located in the garage where I get to see it and monitor the pressure. 40’ well with submersible. On 25, off 60. Last week I saw the gauge rise to 60 and shut off. Then quickly dropped to 50 and returned to normal operation. Head...

Standing water in sewer clean out

in addition to a partial blockage, you may also have a sag or disconnect in the line near the cleanout. Vehicle traffic over said line is a possible culprit. Does happen where septic tanks are removed and central line connections are installed w/o proper compaction under the line.

Water stays lukewarm and never goes cold even though hot water has been switched off for a long time

The only cause that comes to mind from experience is perhaps there is a dimmer of other electronic device miswired and grounded to the plumbing. This can cause the pipe to heat up. It would have to be copper or galvanized

I turned a sewer clean out into a storm drain

Some locales dump smoke into the lines to check for just such offenses. I did same w/ a downspout because it was convenient at the time. Civil Engineer buddy bout had a stroke.

Is 3 gpm good for a well

Calculate your draw down (usage). Usually around 50 gal/day per person + gardens, livestock etc. 3gpm or even less is very common in the arid west but may require a cistern and secondary pump set up to manage the stored supply.

    Pressure relief valve routing

No issues at this location with hurricanes or possible flooding. Additionally the well house has a six inch concrete berm above grade.I dont see how its possible to connect a relief valve 4’ underground to a sump. The only thing that would be going into the well is the water that came out of...

    Pressure relief valve routing

Greetings. I follow this forum daily, finally have a question. I’d like to bring my submersible well supply plumbing up to date. System sets below grade in a 6x6x5 concrete well house. Well insulated and been near service free for 40 yrs. One pump replacement, one control box replacement and one...

    Bleach

On sewer district. Connected decades ago as they threatened to condemn private wells if you didn’t. Sounds like it’s best to downsize the treatment of chlorine. Thanks for all comments.

    Bleach

Good morning gents. I’ve not found a solid answer to this one. Will dumping a gallon of bleach down the john every few months damage anything. Main drain is cast from the mid fifties. Sinks, tub are a mix of ABS & PVC. My wife is convinced this will keep the lines clear, based on her internet...

Drain auger goes through, water stands.

Any toddlers w/ a propensity to discard odd shaped items into black holes?

TEXAS FOLKS = Time to react.

Likewise, if you leave water dripping, your sewer line exposed anywhere will freeze up, think mobile home. Heat tape or insulated skirting. Tough w/o power.

Ever seen copper pipe corrode through within 5 years?

I’m suspicious you have some galvanic action going on. Dissimilar metals will cause the copper to sacrifice itself. Not noticeably w/ brass, but defiantly w/ cast. Heat and salt accelerates the process. One solution is dielectric fittings. If so thicker copper will just last longer.

Advice regarding belly in sewer line. Video Link inside

When our community formed a sewer district and threatened to condemn well if you did not connect i experienced the same “belly” as the one man backhoe/ contractor didn’t compact the backfill where the tank used to be. Went to the cleanout, ran a rag down the line to find where the sag started...

Maximum slope for 4” DWV run

You have no excuse for not installing cleanouts. Just terminate them 10” under sod and lay a piece of ferrous metal on top of them for location.

In desperate need of advice!! Venting

That would be no different than 1 sink w/ an overflow. Anyone think otherwise?

In desperate need of advice!! Venting

Not seeing the issue here. Looks straight forward. Slope each sink drain to the existing connection. ????
