Found this: What the H is it ?

Looked at the clothes washer single-lever on/off supply valves I bought as a "lot" years ago. Yes, looks like it maybe came from one of those. ??

Found this: What the H is it ?

Found this strange ell in fittings parts box. Sure don't remember buying it. Chromed screw was made for an allen wrench to tighten/loosen, and found screwed into fitting. Anyone know what this gizmo is / what it's used for?

Dropped a plastic bottle cap into a boat's fresh water pipe

Now time for a tethered cap for that fresh-water inlet. Tethered caps are designed to irritate you enough that you cap the opening. Be sure to get one in a loud color. :)

    Install Clean Out

I see you're in Phoenix, so the house is probably on-slab. $5k-$10k ?? Check with BROKER (not sales person) on who their office uses, and/or check with a rental management company (or two!) Those are the people who know who to call for plumbing work that's both competent and price-competitive.

    Help with leaking flask

¿Arthur Dent of Hitchhikers Guide fame? Perhaps an epoxy glue would do the job. Also might consider TIG or MIG welding... sheet metal fab.

    What did you do today?

Insect Bombs don't work well. Evacuate the house, no people, dogs, cats, fish, etc. Light a Sulfer candle, in a cup, sitting in a soup bowl full of water, in each room & a few in basement. Return in 6-8 hours & air the place out, shovel roach bodies out. Dying Female roaches lay egg sacs...

PVC clean out plug stuck in 4" Cast iron pipe fitting

That's the figure I thought was about right. The clog has to be soft stuff, since I'm the only one here, and I know there are no sanitary napkins, wet wipes, plastic bottles, etc. in the pipe.

PVC clean out plug stuck in 4" Cast iron pipe fitting

4" cast iron sewer pipes, basement clean out has a PVC plug that won't turn. Exposed threads on the plug are dark, maybe sealant, or, maybe old sewage? I warmed up the cast iron, but that didn't free up the plug. Next step: HEAT the cast iron? or just cut the PVC plug out with my Sawzall...

Replacing Water Heater - adding Expansion Tank

Just ordered a pressure gauge. Since I've seen the water pressure vary from low in the morning low, to highest in middle of the night, best set the X-Tank to average or high ?

Replacing Water Heater - adding Expansion Tank

Replacing 40gal water heater (Rheem). New expansion tank goes on supply side, and should be after the shutoff valve. (A) Space is tight, is there a UPC Code requirement on maximum or minimum distance from the water inlet pipe? (3/4" pipe). (B) Mounting expansion tank, should air valve face UP...

toilet flappers - some work, and some don't

That plastic doesn't break very easily. Have one toilet where the 100% fluid master setup has been working flawlessly for the last 19 years. Used in every rental unit. Have long since given up buying any other brand, if it works, use it

    Preparing house for winter vacancy

OK, so the RV antifreeze can evaporate. Then it might be a good idea to seal-up the toilet bowls with something like Saran Wrap, to keep the sewer gas out of the house. NO??

    Preparing house for winter vacancy

Real Question: What's in RV antifreeze that keeps it from evaporating, like the water in a toilet base will ?? (( I'm imagining you're recommending it because it won't evaporate.))
