Navien NPE-240 Frequent Ignition Failures now that it's below freezing out

Some may remember a post I made months back for a backfiring issue. I've since had someone in and thought all issues were resolved. It appears not. Below are pictures, video and a timeline of events and attempts. I have a different person coming (soon hopefully), but any feedback is helpful...

So I'm hoping to put a nail in this coffin with this last update. I had the new plumber come back. They installed a concentric vent so now my intake is coming from outside. Gas pressure is good, but I put in a request to the Gas company to upgrade my meter from a 250 to a 300 to account for the...

I totally agree, it didn't sit right with me at all. Especially when I talked to Navien today and they also explained that the gas pressure is not regulated by the unit, which is what the company directly contradicted by telling me my house gas pressure would not matter. The company agreed to...

Navien Tankless 240 A Making Pop sound from exhaust

If you don't mind me asking, I called back the company who came to check the unit, yet left without checking the gas pressure, because he said he didn't have a manometer on him. I thought that was weird, and I heard navien on the phone ask him to check as part of the diagnosis. I explained how...

Well I'll chalk that up as a win. Thanks! I had no idea a service kit was a thing and that it could be optional.

I googled it quick and I guess it does look like a service kit. I had no idea what I was looking for to be honest. Does my new pic help clarify? Appreciate the discussion from all.

No worries, the more info I have the better. I can't believe a plumber from a huge service company doesn't carry around a manometer. I would think that is a standard thing to check in almost any situation involving gas appliances malfunctioning. I'm not sure why the installer didn't mention the...

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely look into it more. I hate that I have to become the "expert" every time the expert I hire is supposed to know what's going on.

So it turns out I actually had too much pressure coming into the house. I called a new plumber, who went through all the diagnostics with Navien, tested it all and it was fine, no error codes. Then the last thing they wanted him to do was to test the gas pressure to which he replied that he did...

Navien Tankless 240 A Making Pop sound from exhaust

An update for those interested. I had a service call this morning (with one of the bigger companies in my area who also did my furnace and central air last year with no problems). They ran through all the tests Navien support required and no error codes resulted nor did the pop occur while he...

I appreciate it. Nothing really surprises me at this point but it's always disappointing when I find out.

Ugh. Thanks for the info. The guy was highly rated on all the sites I could find and I wouldn't say it was cheap. It's hard to know who does a bad job until after they do it, it seems. I'll see what the next company says and address these issues if they don't. I try to do my research well but...

It's 3/4 inch on the rigid pipe at the bottom, the flex part above is 1/2. That connects from the main line. One part goes to furnace and this to water heater. I have someone coming to look tomorrow. Just curious why do you feel it's a rough install?

Thanks! Looks like my furnace/AC company is on the list. Will get them in asap. Hopefully this is an easy diagnosis.

I'll have to double check the gas line. Not sure. Room is small but has louvered door that opens to fairly large finished basement.

I'll have whoever I can get in double check that. I wondered if my pressure could vary and maybe some reason it dropped although my furnace hasn't had any issues.

To be honest I'm not comfortable attempting that on my own.
