    Single to double vanity advice

Maybe I'm showing my "iggerence" here, but I don't see anything wrong with your drain setup.

Best garden hose male end repair?

I have not found anything in the 48 years since I bought my first house that will replace a hose end fitting. They all leak. Or break.

Picture too small. No see drip.

Are these wood stains around pipes in the basement a potential plumbing red flag or issue?

    >>I will say that metal straps are not allowed in contact with plastic pipe under any circumstances...<< I didn't know that. What's the reason for that?

    Garbage Disposal Backup

I think that the only thing that should go down a kitchen sink drain is water and used dishwashing water. I also think that garbage disposers are... garbage. I use a plastic coffee cans (like an old Folgers can) and I line them with vegetable bags (like those thin ones that you get at the store...

Kitchen Sink blocked due to coffee grind, cleaned u-trap, but still blocked why?

Makes me wonder why garbage disposers are in every kitchen.

Kitchen Sink blocked due to coffee grind, cleaned u-trap, but still blocked why?

I would be very careful about plunging your kitchen sink. Check the plumbing underneath it first and look for an open standpipe with the dishwasher draining into it. If that's what you have, you'll prolly pump water out of it when you plunge your sink. Been there, done that. Twice. Had to...

How to delay waterflow in rain gutter

I don't understand - why you want to "delay excess rainwater"?

What is this in front yard?

A cleanout??? Assuming you can get the cap off, have somebody flush a toilet and then listen for rushing water. Or shine a flashlight down it to see what you can see.

Need a Pump for My Mastercool ADA7100 Evap. Cooler

I have a Mastercool ADA7100 cooler and had to replace its recirculating pump with a Dial 8500 after 5 seasons. That was 5 years ago and I need to replace the pump again. These pumps all cost between $30 and $125  and they all look pretty much the same, just with different labels. None of...

Slow drip, drip, drip from the PRV

Yep. The pooch has been screwed... :) I would just replace it, be done with it and not fret over it. Can't cost very much, and once the leak has started it just gets worse.

    Tapping sound when water running?

Odd taps here and there give a house "character"...

How to hook up garden hose

I would: 1. Dig 8-10 inches below what's already dug out and cut the pipe there. 2. Install a section of Schedule 80 (the gray stuff) to what's left and run it up to about a foot above grade. 3. Pour some concrete around the bottom of the new pipe and then fill and pack dirt around all that...

    Is this Water Hammer?

Water hammer sounds like a jackhammer next to your ear. Loud and fast, starts when the water is hot coming out of the tap and stops as soon as you shut the water off. (Last time I heard water hammer was in 1953...)

3 Toilets that seem to be Losing Water Level in the Toilet Bowl

Is it windy where you live? The water levels in my upstairs toilets always drop a quarter of an inch or so when the wind gusts over 30 mph. Just the way things work...

    Toilet flushing issues

Before I would replace an 8-year-old toilet, I would first remove the tank. Then I see if there is anything wadded up inside that hole. (And of course, remove it...)
