SOLVED! That was it. I found this: https://www.moen.com/customer-support/faq/faq-122 Both stop valves were at random angles so the pressure was low on both sides. I don't think there was enough pressure to trigger the cartridge normally.

Thanks for the reply, Dave. I'm 99.9% sure they're plumbed correctly. We had a licensed plumber install the valve. The handle starts at 6 (cold) and goes counter clockwise to 9. It makes a distinct noise when it goes past about 10 in either direction like it's blocking or unblocking the water...

Hi all - we just finished a great bathroom upgrade (a leak forced our hand). We have a new Moen 2570 valve for our tub/shower combo. But the temperature regulation is super wonky. It's freezing until you turn it all the way over to the hottest setting, then it's hotter than comfortable until...
