How can I replace this valve?

I have this valve, which doesn't leak unless I try to close it. I would like to replace it. So, I asked the guy at the local hardware store and he told me that I would need an adapter to go from Male Pipe to compression and he gave me these two things. BOTH are labeled 1/2" compression, but...

Wherw to buy nonstandard pipe sizes?

I thought 1.5" had an INNER diameter of 1.5, yet I measured an outer diameter of slightly less than that.

Wherw to buy nonstandard pipe sizes?

I need to replace the piping under my sink so I measured the pipes to compare with a chart. All the industry charts give both inner diameter and outer diameters. So the plastic piping I have is 1.48" OD. The PVC tables only have 1.315 and then 1.60 inches, so mine is some strange in between...

    How do I remove this?

I managed to remove that plastic, but now a new problem. The two bolts seem to be set into some slots and then held in place by a nut. Turning the nut turns the bolts, so how can I remove them? And where is the new plastic piece that holds the new nuts going to go?

    How do I remove this?

Hello, I took my old toilet off but I don't see how to remove this thing. The new toilet came with a wax ring kit and a plastic ring to bolt the toilet to, so I am pretty sure this comes off. As you can see, one of the bolts on the old part is broke. I am not sure how to take this off.

    How are J-Bends dimensioned?

Thanks, CT18. I guess they used to make them with different dimensions, because the old one fit better. So how would you cut this pipe? Dremmel? Pipe cutter?

    How are J-Bends dimensioned?

Hello, I took the trap off my bathroom sink and it was so old that it just tore the metal when I tried to put it back on. So I went to the hardware store and got a new one (1.25" by 1.25"). The problem is that the distance shown in the picture is too short, so that when I put the new one on...
