Help to Identify Tub Valve/Cartridge (SOLVED)

Found an old 62 year old hardware store where they specialize in faucet/valve repairs. Turns out they are Crane Dialese stems, and can be repaired/replaced. Thanks guys for the assistance.

Help to Identify Tub Valve/Cartridge (SOLVED)

I did try that but it didn't want to come apart. Of course I didn't want to apply too much force and break it leaving them with no water till the next day. To replace this valve I would need to remove the water heater under the kitchen counter and cut the wall open, something I would like to...

Help to Identify Tub Valve/Cartridge (SOLVED)

I did not take pictures of those, but they are round like if you took a tennis ball and cut it in half, and each one has three raised ridges that taper down from the edge to flush at the screw hole. The screw head is exposed. The spout is just a standard tub spout with a pull up diverter for the...

Help to Identify Tub Valve/Cartridge (SOLVED)

I have a customer with an old house built in probably the early 50's. The tub valves are leaking and I'd like to know if anyone can identify the make/model, and if any replacement parts are still available. It's a design I've never encountered before. Thanks for any help.

Can't remove water supply lines to replace

That, would be something a good hardware store could help you with.

Can't remove water supply lines to replace

I doubt you will find those exact valves with built-in hose, but you could try. Looks like you have 1/2" CPVC there but I would make sure about that. If it is CPVC you can cut the pipes and glue on new CPVC supply valves and then use regular supply tubes. Working with plastic pipe is pretty easy...

Can't remove water supply lines to replace

You are not going to. This must be a mobile or manufactured home. Those are manufactured combination valve hose supply lines. You will need to turn off the main to the home, cut the pipe off and install new valves that will accept a standard supply tube.

Toilet not flushing all the way

How old is the toilet? If it's old and you have hard water the jets could be so built up with mineral deposits that water can't enter the bowl fast enough to flush, and especially if the main jet is restricted. If that's the case it's time for a new toilet.

    Whole House Water Filter

Compression is far more reliable and sturdy. After a Sharkbite is installed you can still rotate it easily so you can forget about trying to support or stabilize anything with them. My guess is, speed, practically no tools needed, just press them on.

    Whole House Water Filter

Exposed or not? Per the manufacturer, Sharkbite fittings are designed for exposed work only. I assume that is because they rely on an O-ring which can break down/fail over time.

    Whole house water filter

I thought about that too, but then I reasoned that the incoming water has been treated and should be free of any contamination so how would any bacteria appear after the filter? Another consideration is if your system is treated with Chloramine instead of Chlorine. Many cities are switching to...

Side by side urinals not flushing correctly-Please Help

Someone came in ahead of me and did all that. They installed some 20 flushometers changing over from Sloan to Zurn. Unfortunately for them they did not take into account that these old fixture use a ton of water to flush properly and they installed 1.5 GPF valves, so the situation I came into...

Side by side urinals not flushing correctly-Please Help

I hate to mess up a tile wall (the backside is an outside wall 3 stories high, no way on that) but that thing is pretty cool.

Side by side urinals not flushing correctly-Please Help

Thanks for your reply. I believe the vertical drain is centered between the urinals. When I had the right urinal removed I ran my snake into the drain which was going to the left. I did not encounter any resistance till I could hear the snake hitting the drain of the urinal on the left. Could...

Side by side urinals not flushing correctly-Please Help

I am refurbishing the plumbing in an old bank building. In a Men's room I have two identical commercial wall mounted urinals right beside each other. The one on the left flushes completely, and the one on the right does not, and when flushing the left urinal water backs up a lot in the right...
