    Springing Leaks!

Aha - I have the cursed "Red" marked pipe! 3rd fix is in & no leaks. This latest fix was close to the joists; from there, the hot water line T's off to head upstairs & to the bathroom fixtures. Any more issues and I'll remove it up to that point & replace it with "Blue" pipe. Thanks for...

    Springing Leaks!

    > No issues in any other part of the home > Home Depot purchase - not sure if it's "M" or "L" ( how do you tell? ) > Municipal water supply / reasonably hard water ( never tested ) - no home water treatment system > No leaks at solder joints - 1st leak was a small split on the side of a...

    Springing Leaks!

Seasonal Greetings! In 2008 I built a bathroom as part of my finished basement, including copper pipe water supply from my water heater to a shower, sink & toilet. Several days ago I found a significant pinhole leak in a straight run ( close to the tank ), on the hot water side. Fixed it. 2...

    Anyone familiar with this product?

Turned on the tap and took a brief shower after this bathroom sink hose connection failed; anyone here know about this design? Where I might find a replacement? Thanks! Dan

    Off-Centre Tub Drain Hole

Quick question: As much as the carelessness of the drill operator irks me, I need to get this tub in, but am concerned the tub drain stopper might not seal properly due to the mis-drilled hole. Is the a valid concern? Thank you!

Setting Toilet Flange Height Pre-Flooring Installation

Hey, thanks for that, Frodo. Am I correct in wanting to set the flange in it's original position? I figured I'd be 1 3/4"'s back from where it sits now if I don't use my coupling idea. Do they make a female to male elbow that would suit this situation?

Setting Toilet Flange Height Pre-Flooring Installation

Hello Plumbers! I'm ready to modify my existing bathroom waste plumbing, by cutting off the old elbow / flange assembly. I want the flange to locate in the same position, so I'm thinking of using a coupling, with a short piece of 3" abs, to achieve that purpose - does that make sense? Secondly...

    Moen vs. Grohe

Greetings, I've had two Pro plumbers advise me to lose my Grohe Shower Set in favor of a Moen model, claiming there's a chance it will be more difficult, or perhaps impossible, to get replacement parts for a Grohe set down the road. I got the Grohe set at a clearance price, but now I'm...

Replacing Tub/Shower Drain with Shower Only Drain

Hey RD, thanks for that. Not sure if the code requires that up here in Ontario. A buddy is building a home right now & told me the Plumbers installed 1.5" piping for his drains. I may have to swage up to 2" for the shower pan connection though.

Replacing Tub/Shower Drain with Shower Only Drain

Greetings, I'm replacing a tub/shower assembly with a shower-only, using a Sterling acrylic base, left-side drain. Not sure how to proceed with modifying the existing waste-water plumbing for the needs of the shower base. I hope it's as simple as cutting off the minimum necessary, then...
