diagnosing a mysterious internal toilet leak

That's what's weird - it's not at the back, but at the left side. If I shut the water off at the wall, and drain as much water as I can out of the tank, there's still a tiny bit of water that sits below the lip of the flapper. And it still will dribble into the bowl. I can't figure it out...

diagnosing a mysterious internal toilet leak

This one was on tight and pretty snug when I put it in. Plus the bolts are pretty snug, too, so I'm not sure how it might be leaking at that gasket level. My first inclination is that something isn't tight enough and that I have to disassemble it all and reassemble it. However, my second...

diagnosing a mysterious internal toilet leak

diagnosing a mysterious internal toilet leak

Mikey - yeah, I had to replace the gasket - I made a joke about it looking like a TIE fighter from Star Wars, as it was a gasket with two "wing" that extend from the sides through which the toilet bolts are threaded. Pretty much everything in the toilet has been replaced that isn't porcelain.

diagnosing a mysterious internal toilet leak

Update - the black Korky flappers at the hardware store looked to be lower grade than the other Korkys, so I ended up splurging a little and getting a No. 100 Ultra Korky "long lasting" universal flapper. Just put it on the flush valve, and there's no change...I still have water slowly...

diagnosing a mysterious internal toilet leak

Justin - I can see if I can find a korky. (That's the brand name, right?) But the entire flush valve was replaced already, including the flapper - would a brand new flapper be so leaky? Geofd - I can't recall the name/style number at the moment; I did find the numbers, and ordered the proper...

diagnosing a mysterious internal toilet leak

Hello, Glad I found this forum. My situation is this - I'm a commercial renter, and noticed that there was a squeaky and hissy sound emanating from one of the restroom toilets. There was also a slow steady trickle of water to the bowl. I asked the landlord to deal with it (since they've done...
