    Mobile Home Laundry Room Hissing!

Thanks so much for your reply! I learned a lot. As luck would have it, a family member chipped in and I got the line repaired today. I know one thing. Running water is a luxury. Thanks again!

    Mobile Home Laundry Room Hissing!

Guess what. The patch I applied held for 8 MONTHS. Not bad for a beginner. Our problem was mice chewing the pipe. I called in an 'expert' - Zephyrus Reno & Repair in the Baytown area - and he replaced the pipe with a new length and TAPED IT. This is a high pressure water line, people. He...

    Mobile Home Laundry Room Hissing!

I DID. I did everything but draw them a picture. I simply got the wrong department and sought the manufacturer, and STILL got callbacks from sales. :D

    Mobile Home Laundry Room Hissing!

I just turned the water back on - in the words of Dr. Christiaan Barnard, 'Dit lyk asof dit gaan werk!' I put a putty type epoxy on the pipe, let it cure, then added waterproof Gorilla tape followed by a spray coating of Flex Seal. So far, so good!

    Mobile Home Laundry Room Hissing!

DIEHARD: Thanks for the info. Once I got behind the washer (in a mobile home laundry room, no easy feat!!) and unscrewed the panel and turned the water on, it was apparent where the sound was coming from. There is a metal pipe (see red circle in picture) that looks like it was dented - how, I...

    Mobile Home Laundry Room Hissing!

I have a 20-year-old mobile home and just now discovered a hiss in the laundry room emanating from behind the washer. It sounds exactly like air, not water! There is no water on the floor and I don't feel water coming through the pipes to or from the washer. When I turned the washer on, it...

Nice to be here; I hope to learn a lot because I'm going to have to be my own plumber! :)
