How to turn my aerobic system into a stink bomb?

Well hell, I guess I outed myself pretty thoroughly here... still trying to figure out how my username got set like it is (and whether I can change it); I'm usually a little more discreet. Ah well... I'm outside the city limits so there are no noise ordinances in place so no point calling the...

How to turn my aerobic system into a stink bomb?

Apologies for the offbeat question but some time back, the hose that runs from my air pump into my first aerobic septic tank became crimped and it took me quite a while (like a few weeks) to notice. Once the air started flowing again, the system stank to high heaven for at least a few hundred...

Rheem Electric Water Heater - Relief Valve Replacement?

Thanks for that. I'm on county water so there's no well involved. I don't have a water pressure gauge and don't know what I'd be looking for anyway, but my temp's set to roughly 145°f on the heater with the hot water tap registering ~135 on my instant-read kitchen thermometer.

Rheem Electric Water Heater - Relief Valve Replacement?

Just a quick follow-up to close out the thread... the repair went perfectly, thanks again for your help! The relief valve's discharge piping turned out to be CPVC which is sized differently enough from schedule 40 that I spent several very confused minutes in front of Home Depot's selection of...

Rheem Electric Water Heater - Relief Valve Replacement?

I have a 40-gal Rheem electric water heater in my mobile home and I think I figured out that the relief valve is leaking about 10 gal/hr. Luckily, the discharge pipe runs to the outside so there's no water damage that I can see. I shut off the water inlet and the leak stopped. Opened the relief...

Control Panel - Sourcing 120V alarm light and buzzer

I'll take that under advisement. My system is in a side yard and I'd probably notice the buzzer long before I noticed the lamp so I may go ahead and add some kind of audible alarm but I'll definitely throw a toggle switch into that circuit so I can shut it off.

Control Panel - Sourcing 120V alarm light and buzzer

Twowaxhack, Thanks for the links and the suggestion; I don't know why I didn't think to look at a septic supply for the lamp. I'll probably go with that lamp but I may look for a cheaper buzzer.

Control Panel - Sourcing 120V alarm light and buzzer

The mobile home I bought in 2015 came with an aerobic septic system and the system's control panel needs attention. It actually needs to be replaced but I can't hardly bring myself to spend $600+ for a new box when my old box still works (mostly) so I'm looking to just get the alarm working...

Mobile Home Shower Drain Strainer Stuck

I wound up spraying WD40 around the outside of the strainer. After letting it sit for a few minutes, I got a little more determined with a small screwdriver and managed to pry it out without damaging anything. Regarding the "flushing," I found three flexible metallic seals from medicated...

    Terrible Sewer Smell!

I have a bathroom in my home that gets little use and occasionally, the water in the P-traps evaporates enough that sewer/septic gasses are allowed to back up into the house until I run enough water back through the drains to refill the traps. I know zip about plumbing but could something like...

Mobile Home Shower Drain Strainer Stuck

During use, the shower pan in my manufactured home collects 2-3 inches of water, which then drains all at once with a big gurgling/sucking sound before the process repeats. The drain has always been a bit slow but the sucking sound is new. I think I can see some muck under the strainer and would...

    What's This Contraption?

I hadn't really thought about it just being an additional connection, as Diehard suggested. There's no irrigation but he did keep goats back there for a time, and that faucet is very near a shelter he set up... I guess he may have used it for an automatic watering system.

    What's This Contraption?

    That makes sense, thanks!

    What's This Contraption?

See attached - I bought my place a couple years ago, and this is one of the outside faucets that the previous owner installed. This is the only outside faucet that''s configured like this... the others are just PVC pipe straight into the faucet. Just wondering if anyone knows what this...

Aerobic System - How to lower sprinkler head below pipe level?

Thanks guys, I went with the flexible tubing and it worked great!

Aerobic System - How to lower sprinkler head below pipe level?

I need to replace a sprinkler head (Rain Bird Maxi-Paw or equivalent) on my aerobic system, and have found that the outflow piping was laid too shallow to mount the pop-up head flush with the ground. I know zip about septic systems, plumbing and irrigation... any reason I shouldn't put a...
