Wash machine stand pipe drain size requirement

Wash machine in 54 year old house currently drains into deep sink. Would like to add stand pipe in wall instead as we renovate laundry room. Was going to do this similar to the attached image. However I am not sure if the drain that goes down into the floor, which at point is a slab and not...

What kind of regulator and how to remove?

Some of the reviews regarding this part are not great and a bit bothersome. As noted, the part is not cheap and if it doesn't fit correctly or comes without the gasket that would be even more annoying. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FHBG8I/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 So other options are...

What kind of regulator and how to remove?

Yes. Up and down for on/off and right/left for temp. I hope that isn't too hard to come by. Thank you so much for responding.. both of you guys!! :)

What kind of regulator and how to remove?

Shower is dripping continually and also is leaking in the wall.. and downstairs. :) How does the 'grey' part with the teeth that the clear handle attaches to get removed? And what brand is this? House is rather old. I'm guessing there is some sort of seal thing inside that is no longer...

    Polybutylene dangers

I guess we can assume any house built in FL in 2000 will NOT have polybutylene.

    Polybutylene dangers

We are looking for a house in Central Florida... Debary/Deltona area and have discovered that many of those we are looking at were built with PB pipe. In fact we withdrew one offer on a house as it showed up in the disclosures. Of course all of these homes are built on slabs so I can imagine...

    Converting sink drain to tub

Actually finished this project (as least most of it) in the summer and started using it. As the drain had never been used after moving in we ended up calling Rotor Rooter to clean out the pipe as it was backing up into the basement. Anyway... now I get email from them and yesterday received one...

    Converting sink drain to tub

After looking at the pipe layout in basement I can see how the cold water got into all the hot piping elsewhere. Thnx

    Converting sink drain to tub

So is it reasonable to assume that caused the lack of hot water elsewhere in the house and not just there in the new tub which is close to the shower where the mixing is taking place? I'm having a hard time visualizing the physical process whereby cold water mixes thru the shower and gets into...

    Converting sink drain to tub

Wow... only been a year since I posted here. Either I haven't worked on the bathroom or I don't need help. It's actually both. As I haven't worked on it much (especially the plumbing) I haven't ended up doing anything so that I need help. But today that changes.... Finishing up the enclosure...

Pressure testing with air versus water

Well, I appreciate ALL the replies to questions as I learn a lot. Of course, I certainly don't have the means to perform a 250 psi hydro test. I also visually check every single solder joint with a small mirror and flashlight to ensure I can see silver all the way around. Thanks for all...

Pressure testing with air versus water

I have a gage attached to a shark-bite fitting, then a shark-bite valve to close off the air on another pipe. The air crosses from cold into hot piping in the shower value rough in thing.

Pressure testing with air versus water

I left it at 90 psi for about 6 hrs. But I guess I should fill it up again. Is 90 high enough? I realized even if I put water into it, without any fixtures at the ends to let the air out it might not be a good test.

Pressure testing with air versus water

Have finally gotten back to work on the bathroom project and am about ready to finish gluing and screwing down sub0floor as well as starting to put up some of the backer-board for the shower. Up to this point, I have only been testing the copper supply tubes with air from my compressor and am...

    Tub faucet brand?

John.. After consulting with the rest of the family we have decided not to touch the toilet. We have too much to do as far as preparing for an estate sale to mess with it. We are just going to list the house "as is". We will just expect the price of the house to be a bit lower to account for...
