Outdoor spigot attachment? What is it?

There's a local heart doc that weighs over 300. Seems counter intuitive.. Also seems like many "nurses" are from the same crowd, meaning 60+ % in the USA are over weight. However, many med-tech types are out there staying active, many ride bicycles so please give those riders a break and some...

Outdoor spigot attachment? What is it?

I come from industrial electrical profession and during some equipment training (long ago) the instructor said: If you invent a "device"and get a patent on it that's good. But, if you can have THAT device required by code then you've got something! Afterward, the buerocrats will take over and...

Thanks everyone. Living out in the country all this time I've NEVER had one of these things. My SO bought near the city and they are probably as old as this house. I drilled one set screw out and still split w a hacksaw & pry the gap w flathead, the other screw was positioned directly toward...

Understood froto. But you're a bit late to the party. I just happened to get an email notification on this and thought, oh, I just did that job, then found it was my own thread!! Ha ha. Nice instruction though, for future user search.

    main line replacement question

Not too tough of a day, still gotta do the sealer and cover up. Apparently sealing penetrations in the 70's wasn't common! There was ZERO evidence of any type of sealing/waterproofing! Just dirt since day-1!.. Thanks for the advice

    main line replacement question

Guys, Tomorrow I will be (begin) replacing my main line (cast iron, circa 1970) with PVC. Question: What would be the proper method and/or material I should use to seal the foundation penetration? Concrete BLOCK wall w/crawl space. No basement. That area usually stays a bit damp. I get some...

Did you get this accomplished? I have the same situation, need to remove everything and restore the floor and tub as well, rather do that outside.

Opinions wanted on whether I should keep my old cast iron system or upgrade to PVC during this whole-house remodel. Not a rental house. Thank you

    New toilet recommendations

Remodel in progress and want to replace my toilet with a new elongated unit. Which ones should I stay away from? What do the experts recommend? Of course I'm trying to keep the cost down as usual. Thank you

seeking advice for surround w/Alcove Tub (1970s vintage)

Hello, I have an old tub in good condition that I plan on refinishing (outdoors) as part of a remodel. I've been looking for an updated surround kit without any real conclusions. The existing surround/walls have no appeal at all and I would like to find a kit that doesn't have to be re-caulked...

Switching to gas WH, attaching vent pipe question?

Hello, first post here. To the point. While my gas tech guy is gone hunting (no cell) I'm trying to complete the install in my house. I have the data & correct material to install everything! Question is,,,, while my vent pipe is totally vertical through the ceiling & roof,,,,, how is it I move...
