Switching from copper to PEX and Manabloc

Surprised a newer home like that isn't pex. Run it all pex, with brass connections. Think that's what you mean instead of copper. Brass crimp rings are the way to go. You got the idea, just need to make sure it's done in a way you never have to revisit.

    Ice maker install

Btw, it's a 1/4 inch outlet that you need off the angle valve.

    Ice maker install

Reason I say to switch, pex has more leaniancy behind your fridge, copper is more rigid and doesn't have a lot of give to it.

diagnosing a mysterious internal toilet leak

Flapper, I like the korky black ones. Sometimes the ones that come with a new flush valve don't seal all the way.

Not enough PVC pipe to tie onto

You can CAREFULLY cut the bell of the fitting, and peel it off. Had to do it several times. If you do it right, just take a utility knife across where everything was glued so you have clean pipe to work with. Cut the bell down to the pipe, without cutting into the pipe under it. If you make...

Nvm, I got to hasty and posted without looking. You used no hubs.

    Fernco Couplings

No hubs. Per code that's what you use inside. And technically that's inside. At least that's code in my town, don't know if it's an IPC thing. They fit a bit more snug around the pipe pending it's not over the bumpy letters on the cast iron.

    Smell in Laundry Room

Is there by chance a floor drain with no side plug or the trap is dry?

How much do plumbers know about PEX piping?

As a service tech, I'd imagine it's different pending the type of PEX. Like mentioned before, their are 3 different types of PEX. A,b,and c, and all are rated different. That's when I'd get on the horn with the manufacturer and figure it out.

Mobile Home double sink drains slow

It's probably clogged. Mobile homes have a bad tendency, at least in my area, to have very poor grade if not back grade on the drain lines. Can be boogers to get open.

Mobile Home double sink drains slow

If it's clogged. It would overflow out of the auto vent, once you get the top part off.

Mobile Home double sink drains slow

Have you tried taking the threaded part of the vent off? Those fail over time and need changed.

Mobile Home double sink drains slow

All this being said if you had a reputable company snake the drain line.

Mobile Home double sink drains slow

You have an auto vent on the sink. Can see it. It's the upside down ice cream cone in the back of the cabinet. Take that off. It unthreads. If it drains perfectly (without overflowing). Replace that part. Thats the easiest. Those center waste tees can degrade over time, allowing water to...

cold water T'd into kitchen sink hot water supply

It would still mix on the hot side to other fixtures. Cause, when one fixture is on, it pulls the water from another. And that being tee'd like that. It would pull cold water, into the hot side of other fixtures. Still, doesn't seem right.
