Do these pipe cutters have any value?

Yes they are big. I see a number of them on eBay that don’t sell. On the one hand I hate to get rid of them because they were my uncle’s. On the other, I need to get stuff out of my shop. It seems a shame to just send them to recycling. I also have a large old monkey wrench.

Do these pipe cutters have any value?

I’m trying to clean up my shop and have some tools from an uncle who was a master plumber. I’m wondering what to do with these old pipe cutters I’ll never use. Does anyone use these anymore? Do they have any value? Thanks

Very low water pressure - Plumber or Well Company

My water pressure is very low, the water just trickles from the tap and I need to know if I should call a well company or a plumber. Sorry this will be long so that I can explain the history and current state. I have a whole hose filter that is connected to the main water supply after the...

    Diagnosing Well Water Pressure Problem

When I replaced the water filter, there was obvious sediment in the incoming water. The photos show the filter I installed and what it looks like 12 hours later. I said in an earlier post I had used black filters in the past which made it difficult to how much sediment was in the water in the...

    Diagnosing Well Water Pressure Problem

Cary, didn't mean to insult anyone, except maybe the crazy guy. He is way over the top. I'm just the type of person who, when researching a product, likes to find test results done by independent parties with no financial interest in the product. There is lots of technical information on your...

    Diagnosing Well Water Pressure Problem

I just put in a new filter and have the usual water flow back. I usually use the black carbon filters but used a white one this time so it is easier to tell when it gets bad. Filling the clear housing, I did notice sediment in the water. I hadn't noticed that before but that could be just...

    Diagnosing Well Water Pressure Problem

Wouldn't that make the pump cycle on and off more, in urn, shortening pump life? In my research I've read that more frequent cycling can also lead to stirring up more sediment in the well and thus in the water. How do you arrive at the proper balance between maintaining pressure vs. pump life...

Ball valves on the water tank and on the input and output side of the filter. First ting I checked was to make sure they were completely open.

    Diagnosing Well Water Pressure Problem

I need some advice about my well water system. I don't know if I have two problems or one. I noticed a water pressure and flow problem the last two days. Usually this means I need to replace the whole house water filter cartridge, but I just did that last week. I don't have any regular...

Need help with indirect fired water heater selection

I have a Weil McLain Gold Plus 40 gallon indirect oil fired water heater which, judging from the water on the basement floor and the leak at the bottom, needs to be replaced. I haven't had to buy a water heater for 15 years and have no idea what features to insist on, which features are nice to...

What is this item used for?

Anyone know what this is? It is pretty substantial brass, looks like it has a venturi cone on the female end. The internal bore opening in the male end is larger than the female end. I’m assuming it’s not just water sprinkler. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Water Hammer Solution

There is one toilet in my house that causes severe water hammer when it fishes filling. It is the last fixture on the line. The toilet before it has a slight bit of hammer, more of a tick than a bang. I am making sure the pipes are properly supported and am also installing a water hammer...

    Toilet flange help

I need to reset a toilet due to the odor of sewer gas in the bathroom. The flange does not have any holes for the toilet bolts. There was a flat, metal flange ring screwed to the floor that I removed so that I can repair the tile to give the toilet a solid base to sit on. Is the metal ring the...

I removed the cartridge and the back of it was broken. I have a new cartridge but it will not go in all the way. The photo shows a white ring at the bottom of the valve. I think this is a broken piece of he old cartridge but it will not just fall out. Iwant to make sure it is not a washer...

    Moen Shower valve leak

I have a Moen shower valve on an outdoor shower. The valve was installed new last year and worked fine. Every Fall I disconnect the H/C pipes and valve from gthe supply lines and bring it indoors so it doesn't sit out over the Massachusetts winter. When I connected the valve this summer and...

    What is this tool?

I took more photos and tried to take it apart. The barrel tuns and ratchets towards the “handle”, on the right side of the above photo, which is solid metal. It only turns 1 way. The pointed end at the top of the photo unscrews. The other end is hollow. I tried further disassembling this...
