Could be excessive water pressure or faulty o-rings. I would not think the o-rings would be custom, probably available at most stores that sell o-rings. Either way, hard to tell without a picture or video of what is occurring.

I would agree that you should call in a professional plumber at this stage.

You could also check into a capacitor faucet that only comes on when your hand is near the faucet. These are made by Technical Concepts but is now owned by Rubbermaid. They make a couple of different styles including a gooseneck model. No links in posts, please
