    Shower vent in ceiling

I'm adding a bathroom in my basement. I currently have the roughed in shower drain and vent in the concrete and had it inspected. During the framing process, i'm running the vents. I have a question about running the vent. I have a vent running from the concrete floor up the wall, then changes...

    Vent distance question

All of this was here when i moved in. The small pipe is from a water softener. it flushes water a couple times a week into that trap. Not sure why the other wye is there. Maybe for a washing machine that could move there? I suspect this was added after the house was built since the PVC is a...

    Vent distance question

I attached a photo of the 3" that comes out of the concrete, wye, cleanout, and converts to a 2" to a vent. Hopefully that explains it much better than i could in words. Right now there is roughed in toilet and shower drains and a vent to the roof. The rest of the house's drains are on the other...

    Vent distance question

It is marked on the left side. It comes out of the concrete at 3" then a Wye with a clean out and a 2" vent to the roof. When calculating the distance, do I use the distance to the vertical vent, or can I use it as a wet vent and measure the distance from the 3" drain pipe under the concrete to...

    Vent distance question

here's a side view if this helps to explain it better... is the distance to the vent calculated on the 2" or 3" pipe?

    Vent distance question

I've attached a diagram. There is a 3" pipe under the concrete and i don't know exactly where it is, but i can guess that it runs near the shower drain. I plan to dig up the concrete from the existing shower drain to the new location and tie in at the old location. its just under 8' (maybe 7'...

    Vent distance question

I'm installing a basement shower where a 2" drain for the shower is almost 8' from the 3" vent. Looking at the vent distance table, 2" drains should be no more than 8' away. Since i'm so close to the limit, is it recommended to install a 1 1/2" vent just for the shower vent, or if i carefully...

    What are these drain pipes?

I forgot to mention... i figured out what the 3" PVC pipe is for. Its a passive radon remediation system. It goes from under the slab to above the roof.

    What are these drain pipes?

That makes a lot of sense, at least for the 2" drain. I know a washing machine has always been in a separate laundry room, but this leaves the possibility open. There is also a roughed in toilet and shower drain on the floor (in concrete near these pipes. But the only other question is, what...

    What are these drain pipes?

They continue vertically. I checked the toilet, sink and shower and none of them drain to either of these two pipes. Would there be a purpose to having a stack to the roof with no drain (except the water softener)? I'd like to be sure they go to the drain because i'd like to add another fixture...

    What are these drain pipes?

I have an interesting question about the plumbing in my basement. I have a 2" drain pipe that goes into the slab (presumably to the septic tank?) and upstairs. 2 feet to the right of it is another 3" stack going up. And 3 feet towards the interior there is another 3" stack that goes upstairs...
