    Eljer Savoy series tank reservoir

Thanks again for all who responsded to my post. I installed the adustable flapper valve with the setting wide open, which allows the valve to close faster. After adjusting the water level in the tank to it's proper level, the toilet flushes perfectly and refills in much less time.

    Eljer Savoy series tank reservoir

I found a 3" Flowmaster adjustable flapper valve on Amazon that I think will work. I'll let you know how it works out. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002C1AVV8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Eljer Savoy series tank reservoir

Okay, Thank you for your input. I agree that sometimes ratings can be misleading. Can you explain how the Korcy adjustable valve works? What is the ring on the valve changing that causes the valve to close at different times?

    Eljer Savoy series tank reservoir

I do NOT have a good understanding of how the adjustable flapper valve works. How does turning a ring or dial on the valve change the valve in such a way as to cause it to close sooner or later? In what way does the dial or ring change the valve so it closes at different times? Why does...

    Eljer Savoy series tank reservoir

I saw the flapper valve you mentioned but it was a 2" valve and I need a 3" valve for my Eljer Savoy Series 1.6 gal toilet. I have not been able to locate a similar 3" valve. I will keep looking.......

    Eljer Savoy series tank reservoir

Sorry, I did not mean to ignore your post. I was not aware there was such an animal. I will see if I can find an adjustable flapper valve and give it a try. Thanks for the reminding me.

    Eljer Savoy series tank reservoir

Good point about putting brick in the tank. I did not think of that possibility of debris getting under the valve. And, thanks for the adjustment information I reset the float for the lowest water level. The toilet seems to flush okay and the water stops flowing into the tank in a shorter...

    Eljer Savoy series tank reservoir

Thank you for your response.... I installed a universal drain. valve that seemed to work well but resulted in a very long refill time. Have considered putting a brick in the tank to displace water and reduce the fill time. Is there any other work around that you know of?

    Eljer Savoy series tank reservoir

I am looking for a plastic reservoir that Eljer used in it's Savoy series toilet. The orginal reservoir was accidently discarded when the drain valve was replaced several years ago. I have checked several supply houses but it appears the reservoir out of production and no longer available...

    Lock-on Type Copper fittings.

Thanks for mentioning the asbestos cloth. I will pick one up today. I usually use a ceramic tile to cover any wood that is close to where I am soldering. I like the asbestos cloth idea better.

    Lock-on Type Copper fittings.

Thanks for reinforcing my own thoughts. The SharkBite fittings use two O rings and advertise they are good to 150 psi. There is a small access panel located in a closet on the back side of the shower wall. I am certain I can do it but I really don't like using a torch inside a wall. I will...

    Lock-on Type Copper fittings.

Are the new lock-on fittings suitable for replacing a single lever shower valve? The space in the wall is very limited and I would like to avoid using a torch, if possible. I am certain they will work but do they meet the plumbing code? Bill

Hot water coming through cold faucet

Is there any possibility the tubing for the cold water facet was routed though your attic? My neighbor had leaking issues with tubing that was run under the cement slab when his house was built . He had the entire house re-tubed with plastic tubing. Much of the new tubing was run though the...

    Gluing PVC Tubing

Had a 135,000 BTU pool heat pump installed yesterday. All of the joints are good. Non are leaking. Best of all the Hayward 4 way valve does not leak and the plug I fabricated to plug an open port, is dry as a bone. All is good with world. I found the heat pump installer bonded the heat...

    Gluing PVC Tubing

The photo of the Hayward valve shown in the previous post shows two common ports. There is a third common port facing toward the bottom of the valve. I used the port that is facing down. One of the two horizontal ports facing the camera is blocked with plastic. I have no idea why Hayward...
