    Moen Shower Valve

You were so right. I took the handle off and screwed in the set screw tightly. It was loose. Everything is good now. Thanks.

    Moen Shower Valve

I changed out the cartridge 1222 in Moen shower valve. After reassembly, the handle seems very lose or wobbly. I tried to tighten the set screw, which did not help.I am attaching some pictures during dis-assembly. I would appreciate if someone can point out what other things I should try.

I will turn on the main supply again when checking the solenoids. Have not seen any wet spots before in the yard

    Mystery Leak

Turned off the main supply to sprinkler system. The leak has stopped. Now, need to go through each solenoid valve by turning off/on at a time and find the culprit. So far I have found 4 solenoids. According to the control box it has 9 total circuits. Need to locate other three solenoids.

    Mystery Leak

Food color in the toilet tanks did not reveal any leaks. Now its time to investigate the sprinkler system. No wet spots are found so time to find those solenoids locations and see.

    Mystery Leak

Thanks. She did not have food color so we'll be going there tomorrow. She does not have a swimming pool, so, that eliminates the fill line. It may be hard to find induvial solenoids if they are scattered around the yard. I am hoping they are in a group in a box of some kind. .

    Mystery Leak

My daughter says her smart water meter app alerted that she had 65 gallon leak during 24 hour period. I told her to check all the toilets and faucets. No luck. Then I told her to walk around the yard to see if she spots any wet areas since she has a sprinkler system. Again no luck. I am going...

Need Help Figuring Out Pipe Size NG for Generator

Thanks. Makes me feel better. We rarely use the pool heater. Also, the plans are not to fully load the generator. Just run some essential things such as refrigerators, some lights, computers and perhaps a tv. Not expecting to have all creature comforts during the outage.

Need Help Figuring Out Pipe Size NG for Generator

I just came across this thread. Not sure why I missed it in the first place. I bought Firman Tri-Fuel portable generator from Costco. My plan is to use it outdoors during power outages and at other times, store it in the garage. I got electrician to install interlock on the main panel and got a...

    Garbage Disposer/Disposal

I have not worked on this type of things. Do the disposers come in different sizes as far as the dimensions are concerned? Thanks

    Garbage Disposer/Disposal

In the laundry room, I have a single sink. Is it possible to install the garbage device. I know I will need to provide electricity. I was just wondering how much of a trouble its going to be.

    Hose Bib Parts

I have a old hose bib. (picture attached). It is leaking and when I went to ACE, I was told there is no way to fix it since they don't carry the parts. I am not well versed in the plumbing lingo. Hopefully the pic clarfies what I am trying to do. (I could just buy another one , but, my wife...

    Insulating Copper Pipes in Attic

My rationale for portable generator was to make sure that during prolonged power outage (lasting more than a day), my pipes don't burst and the refrigerator/freezer keep running. I have expirienced four day outage during one late summer. No AC, but even in Houston, I survived. I would have...

    Insulating Copper Pipes in Attic

I looked at a whole house backup generator. Too expensive

    Insulating Copper Pipes in Attic

The lines froze because the electricity went out for days. During previous cold spells, the electricity stayed on and enough heat is generated in the attic with two furnaces. I do like the idea though.

    Insulating Copper Pipes in Attic

I alrady bought a tri fuel generator and had a plumber put in gas connection for the generator near the gas meter. The next task is to hire an elctrician to install interlock on the electrical panrel and provide a plugoutside for the portable generator and hook it up to the elctrical panel. Its...

    Insulating Copper Pipes in Attic

No air compressor and the wife would not have it! Anyway, the authorities have promised (Ha Ha) that we would not lose electricity again. All the systems have been weatherproofed.

    Insulating Copper Pipes in Attic

I think you are right. I will throw some insulation over it. I am also planning to get a small portable propane heater(approved for indoor use) and use it if needed. By the way, how one goes about draining the pipes? Shutoff the main in the yard and open all the faucets in the house? Thanks
