Minor air in line for decades

By leaking, I mean they are possibly letting water go up to the shower head, even though the shower valve is off.

Minor air in line for decades

Change the shower cartridge. The o rings or seals inside might be getting weak, and at 60 psi they start to leak.

    Hot water

There might be a separate pressure balancing module behind the cartridge. Or you bought the wrong cartridge. Post a pic of the old cartridge if you still have it. Pros on here might know what your problem is.

    Getting to shower cartridge

I believe you still have to remove that final chrome sleeve, to get to the raw cartridge. It probably just pulls off, but maybe it needs to unscrew, try both ways.

    Getting to shower cartridge

It looks like that final chrome piece should just pull straight off. Remove it, then post another pic, try to get better focus if you can.

    Hot water

It might be the pressure balancing module, if your valve has one. Post a picture of the cartridge and valve with the trim cover off.

    Bradford White 50 gal question

The shower valve setup should not be causing your hot water to run out. Maybe the cold inlet dip tube in the water heater is rotted away. That is a fairly common problem on old heaters. You can find your manual online, to find where the dip tube is accessed for replacement. I think it is...

    Bradford White 50 gal question

Why is that escutcheon on the cold valve pulled out like that? It looks like a replacement, it does not match the others.

    Bradford White 50 gal question

Your water heater was built in 2001, so it is really getting pretty old. If you have not been flushing it all these years, there could be a hard layer of minerals coating the bottom. You should be able to just screw a garden hose onto the drain valve, and then open the valve handle and dump...

    Bradford White 50 gal question

Your water heater might need flushing out, it might have sediment or mineral build up that is blocking the burner from properly heating the water. How old is the water heater? If you don’t know, you can post some clear pics of the manufacturer and model number and serial number, we can look it...

Float switch is the wrong switch

Sorry I was kind of skimming your post, yes 12 volts is safe even if leaky.

Please help identify make/ model Shower Faucet. I need to replace the handle. The plastic spacer broke

CLR is good stuff but pretty strong to leave on overnight. It is probably fine, but I have had a few problems with it when left on too long, sometimes it can slightly damage the finish. Maybe start with just bathroom cleaner to get the soap film off, then paper towels soaked with straight...

Outdoor spigot attachment? What is it?

The tamper-proof locking screws are needed, because otherwise most folks would immediately unscrew those pesky things. My biggest complaint against them is that they leak and spurt, unless you turn on the sillcock to fairly high pressure.

    Haha! Thanks!

Float switch is the wrong switch

Don’t get electrocuted! Plug into a gfci outlet, or get a gfci adaptor or gfci extension cord. A pump might run just fine with a deadly current leak. Caulk any leaks with aquarium sealant pure silicone, after cleaning and drying the area. Put on a second coat after a few days of curing. FYI...

Float switch is the wrong switch

Any external piggy back type switch will control your pump. Just leave it rigged as it was. A 120 volt pump float switch should still control 12 volts. Post some pics of everything.

    Mystery Plumbing

Wow, there is A LOT going on down there! The International Space Station probably has a less complex plumbing set up than that, haha! Just wondering, but it looks like some drain piping got plumbed into the cleanout hole, just above the trap adapter. Anyone have thoughts on that? I don’t see...

    Refrigerator water supply line

By needle valve you are talking about a typical junky saddle valve, and yes they are lousy in every way. Prone to leaking, often won’t shut off when you need them to, and small aperture means slow output. But they were popular for DIYers because no skill needed to install. You can get a...

    Sorry For Some Grumpy Posts!

Hi gang! I apologize for some recent grumpy posts, cabin fever is making me nuts. I usually have great patience on here, but my supply is close to exhausted. I will either post nicely or stay silent. Sorry for rocking the boat, hope everyone stays healthy and safe! Jeff Handy

    Drain plumbing

Yes, better pics and from more angles. And explain exactly what you are asking help for. What are you needing to replace, attach to, convert, or whatever your needs are. Describe in detail what you have already done, and why. Did you do any work yourself, or was it done by a pro? You will...
