I am replacing a basement kitchen sink with a utility sink. The current drain, after the trap, goes into a pipe in the wall 20" above the floor. The bottom of the utility sink will be 23". Will it drain ok if I just replace it as is? Would be difficult to change the height because of the setup. Is there a certain required height differential for the bottom of a sink and the height of the pipe coming out of the trap?

Just remember that when you put your p-trap on the utility sink it must go down hill toward the drain. If the drain in
the wall is to high then raise the sink up just enough for this to happen.
