Hi,

I can't get this stupid handle off... hex may be stripped. How else do I get it off? I tried the easy off drill bit but no luck.. If I need to cut this stupid thing off how do I do that? Any advice appreciated.

Those little set screws are soft metal. You might try finding a flathead screwdriver just a smidge larger than the diameter of the hole, tapping it into the round hole using a hammer, then twisting it out. If you have access to an "Easy Out", that is really what you need. You can get a small set at Harbor Freight for under $10.

Design defect in these Delta handles which makes this the rule rather than the exception. I always drill out the screw and replace the handle. If replacing with the same style handle, fill the screw hole in the new handle with silicone lubricant prior to installing the new handle. I always try to convince faucet owner to replace handle with a different style which will not have this problem. i.e.: Delta Faucet H78 Single Large Blade Handle with Screw for Monitor. More industrial looking but I like it and never a problem with the attachment screw.

thanks for the info all, I managed to drill that sucker out and replace the cause of leak and put a new faucet handle in there... All the local hardware store had was more of the same type so just bought that one... no more leak but I installed the handle wrong and now hot water is cold and cold water is hot...
