A lot of homes the drain hose is shared between the garbage disposal and the dishwasher. In my case it's no exception. Lately the I have been having a problem with the water from the sink/disposal flowing into the dishwasher and not being able to drain. Of course I know not to operate the disposal while the dishwasher is running but somehow over the course of a couple days it will go from functional to haywire. Started having an error popping up on my dishwasher leading to a leak which i originally thought to be a problem for the dishwasher technician to handle after I realized I could not handle it but I believe it is a plumbing problem. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?

The drain hose from the dishwasher should loop up to the top of the sink cabinet before being connected to the disposal. Best to attach it to keep it from falling down.

That worked great! Now I'm having the same problem. check the hose and it seems to be still in place in the loop. Didn't see any kinks in the hose. Anywhere you suggest I look?

If you have water going back into your dishwasher then you need the drain line snaked out. Another
thing. When everything is properly running you can run the garbage disposal while the dishwasher is running.

Take a wire coat hanger unbend it and inside the disposal there is a opening that the washer drains though stick the wire inside a couple
of inch's to clear food blockage, then run dishwasher
