Shower is dripping continually and also is leaking in the wall.. and downstairs. :)

How does the 'grey' part with the teeth that the clear handle attaches to get removed?

And what brand is this? House is rather old. I'm guessing there is some sort of seal thing inside that is no longer... sealing.

Would rather not install a new regulator.

This I think is what you have.
Price Pfister Flow-Matic Tub and Shower Cartridge.

do you tilt the handle up to turn on and turn for Hot/cold?

Yes. Up and down for on/off and right/left for temp.

I hope that isn't too hard to come by.

Thank you so much for responding.. both of you guys!!

Some of the reviews regarding this part are not great and a bit bothersome. As noted, the part is not cheap and if it doesn't fit correctly or comes without the gasket that would be even more annoying.

So other options are:

1. Install new mixing unit for different brand/make which I am sure will not be simple if the piping doesn't match up well. I would probably first install a couple of valves in basement so I could turn off water to this bathroom which will simplify redoing the bathroom when I get to that. Though this might not be easy depending on how much play there is in the piping.

2. Call home warranty company and pay the $135 deductible. This will take some time and I assume they will fix with the same part so this issue might arise again.

Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
