Hi everybody, we just bought a house in Sacramento, from the 1950s. The master is more recent and has some kind of in ground jet tub that has that faucet (photo attached).

It's been leaking (from everywhere, knob, lever, spout), so we called the home warranty who sent a plumber who... had never seen something like that. He took a photo and sent to this boss who is much more experienced. According to him, the whole piece has to be replaced, but it has been 2 weeks and he says he can't locate a piece that would go.

So long story short, he is probably gonna cancel and Fidelity will send somebody else. Not sure if he tried very hard.

My question: what kind of faucet is that (some kind of clawfoot? but it's attached horizontally to the tiles, and not vertically to the tub or the wall), and where could we find a piece. If not, does it really have to be replaced, can't it just be fixed with new washer etc? (we bought new knob but after a couple weeks, we have to tighten the screw and now it doesn't shuts off properly, knob continues rotating, the thread must be damaged)

thanks for any help,
Philippe

you need a deck mounted faucet. You could try measuring the spread between the hot and cold and see if you can find one at a specialty place. I am more large scale plumbing so maybe one of the service guys would have a idea of where they could be found
