How much water should a water softer use during a regeneration cycle?

How much water could a water softer use during the regeneration cycle?

I am seeing a ton of water usage from an home with no one in it.

I was told that it was normal because of the water softer.

How must water could this water softer use if configured properly?

Ok, I see a water usage of over 6,000 gallons during a day that I was not even at the house. My property manager said it normal for a water softener however I think its too high.

That chart you showed me shows a range of 43 gallons to 142 gallons. Nothing close to 6,000 gallons.

How much water should a water softer use during a regeneration cycle?
