Is it possible to use PEX-AL-PEX with freon in a refrigerant system?

The temperature of the freon (r-22) is at -41 degrees fahrenheit, and nobody marks the PEX-Al-PEX pipe with negative temperatures, due to its uncertification for cooling. Im 100 percent sure that the molecules of freon are bigger than those of water, but that is not my question. I'm not trying to use the freon for radiant heating puposes, I just know that PEX-AL-PEX has an aluminum lining and I was curious if I could use my lefovers of the tubing for refirgerant purposes.

I got a bit curious myself and it seems that you can use PAP for refrigerant purposes. PEX-AL-PEX Pipe and Fitting Systems: PEX-AL-PEX pipe and fittings used in used in refrigeration applications shall have a working temperature range of -40 to 250°F (-40 to 121°C), a maximum design working pressure of at least 840 psi.

That's according to http://www.icc-es-pmg.org/Criteria/Approved/PDF/LC1035.pdf

Also I found this http://www.canarsee.com/differences-between-oxygen-barrier-and-non-barrier-pex-tubing
They give a pretty good chart of what uses are compatible with which types of PEX, which in your case is clearly listed about your Freon situation.

So to answer your question, Yes you can use PEX-AL-PEX with Freon.
