Mr David,,,Yall ever want fire works, just ask. they set up HUGE tents around here sell thousands of different varieties

Those thing are way too dangerous. Especially the ones sold on the street. Mix those in with drinking and you have a recipe for disaster.

?????????????????????????????really ???????????

what do you mean by sold on the street?

Nevermind, I'm used to people selling half-*ssed fireworks out their trucks, not at an even of some sort. That looks amazing, forget what I said.

Mr_David and Steven, oh, I would never actually put the trash bags on his bed, but I can still think about it. LOL.

I know it would accomplish nothing if I actually did it. It is an ongoing constant thing of him never doing his own share of the chores. He's now claiming that he shouldn't have to do anything because he has a job and his feet hurt, but he wasn't doing anything before he got a job. The trash is literally in a pile, there is trash all over the kitchen floor (I've picked up and bagged tons of it already), and there are fruit flies everywhere. He doesn't bother to put food stuff in a bag before throwing it away and he leaves trash on top of the fridge, on the counters, or just leaves it on the floor. I've tried hauling the stuff out myself, but I can't physically manage it all.

He reacts to sanctions with anger. One time he was so angry that he was told he wasn't allowed to take the car, he went out and kicked the hard so hard he put a large dent in it.

I'll try to talk to him when he gets home tonight. I keep reminding him that stuff needs to get done, but he ends up just playing video games or staying out most of the night on his days off.

Well how old is he that his reaction was kicking a car? Sounds pretty young too me. If not young then there is most likely anger issues here that should be addressed. Such as where is this anger coming from, it has to be built up inside.

We have firework issues around here. They used to block off our street on 4th of July and have a big block party. the neighbors used to shoot bottle rockets in the street. My wife got pissed off because she found a few spent rockets in our back yard. maybe not from them but from some other jerks shooting them off. Densely populated urban area is no place to shoot those off. So when the neighbors came around for signatures for the block party, she asked if they could insure nobody will shoot rockets off and they said they could not guarantee that, so she wouldn't sign. That was the end of the block parties.
Kind of like the Hatfield's and McCoy's around here for awhile. So it would be kind of hypocritical if I brought some home.

OW!!!!! your caught in the middle.

steven, my brother is 35 but he was 34 at the time he had the tantrum. He was a spoiled little kid who almost always got his way. He's the youngest so he was Mom's favorite. As a kid, if he didn't get his way he would pitch a fit until my parents gave in. He also would just refuse to do stuff he was supposed to do (like homework, chores) and my mother made the mistake of doing his homework for him and then making me do his chores for him. So, he basically never learned to be responsible. My father was busy working 60+ hours a week. His parents were extremely lax-- to the point of being neglectful, but he was responsible by choice and always had a desire to do the right thing and work hard. I think he assumed it would work the same way with us.

Man, that must have been tough when your wife refused to sign. I can only imagine the things the people in the neighborhood said about her and you over that. I don't blame your wife though. When I lived in the suburbs and we had block parties, the only fireworks set off were the little ground thingies and the "snakes".

Speaking of neighbors, one of my neighbors showed up today to come get his horses. I went out to see who was in the yard (since I heard my dogs doing their intruder alert barks). He said his yard was out of grass and he was trying to get his horses to follow him back. Apparently his gate has been broken. I told him I had been wondering who owned them and I'd contacted the vet to find out (but he didn't know) so the owner wouldn't be missing them. I said they never hurt anything and are welcome to hang out as long as they want. I've got an automatic waterer, there's shade, and my cows seem to like the company. We reminisced about what a jerk my horse had been (biting people, terrorizing other animals, breaking fences, getting into dog feed, and breaking other things on purpose). He asked me to keep an eye on the horses and to call him if they got out of hand or needed any veterinary treatment. Then he thanked me and went on his way.

Meanwhile, my friend who had the horrible car accident finally got a used truck replacement, put several hundred $ into getting it fixed up, registered, and insured and within an hour it threw a rod. Its less expensive to buy anther used vehicle than to get it fixed. So he's trying to sell it for scrap and get another one. He finally caved and made a gofundme page. He thought $50k was a lot to ask for, but his medical bills are over $300k and he still needs treatments for his neck, dental work, and he's behind on his bills. He was promised a promotion at work, but they went and hired someone new for the spot. He used to have a very good high-paying job but he got laid off when the company moved out of state.

Is it ok if I post the link to his gofundme page here and put it in my signature?

Thanks, phishfood.

My injured friend's gofundme page Every little bit helps. Even if you can't or don't want to donate, it would be appreciated for anyone to share it with people who might be interested or willing to help.

So far, he hasn't had much luck, but he was happy with the amount he already got since he said it will cover the gas bill. He's been selling off prized possessions and working as many hours as his job will let him.

Today was another friend's birthday so I went over to visit him in the new place he's renting. I decided to inspect the plumbing under the kitchen sink (it has an S-trap) and then I looked in the bathroom... It was ugly. I should have tried to get a better picture, but I noted that the trap arm goes upward, then has a fernco fitting to cast iron and the cast iron pipe angles upward because of a piece of wood. I asked if the sink had trouble draining and my friend said it did. I said to inform the landlord that the pipes needed to slope downward. I also explained to my friend's girlfriend why an S-trap was bad and what would have to be done to the plumbing to make it right.

I'm unsure whether or not the bathroom trap arm has a vent within 5 feet.

Here's the pic of my friend's bathroom lavatory drain. I suck at holding cameras steady and straight, but even if I had it at the right angle, the pipe still goes up.

Last night/early this morning I had to take my mother to the ER upon her request because she couldn't stop throwing up and had severe abdominal pain. It's the same crud I had a few weeks back, but she couldn't take it so she wanted to go in. It was after 1am. A doctor who seems to be a heavy smoker (he reeked of cigarette smoke and had a bad smoker's cough) hobbled in. He had the nurse give her a shot for nausea, some oral meds (once she stopped vomiting) for the runs, and sent her home after 3am. I had asked about IV fluids but they didn't think it was necessary. She was ok until we got home but then she started up again and apparently went through the same cycle today.

I had to get up early to take my friend to go look at vehicles. He made the mistake of letting the salesman at one dealership do a credit check prior to actually seeing a vehicle that he was interested in and the guy did a hard check that dinged his credit score enough to bring it down too low to qualify for a bank loan (it had been high enough before that ding-- he would have a great credit score if his identity hadn't been stolen; some jerk is still opening credit cards in his name and maxing them out). He ended up not liking the vehicle that was shown-- it wasn't the right size and was $3k over bluebook. Salesman kept trying to tell him that the total amount didn't matter-- it was only the monthly payment that did-- but with insurance it would have been over the amount he could afford.

We went to several places and then he saw the vehicle he wanted. Excellent condition, great price, but he couldn't finance it because of the ding-- so he's going to see if his grandfather can help him.

Then I took some of the scrap vinyl sheet from my bathroom floor over to my friends that are renting the slum house. The floor previously had some sort of peel & stick crap that had come up and I had a chunk leftover that was larger than that tiny bathroom. I'm probably going to go over another day to help make the template to install it and then help them cut it and put it in. I'm also encouraging them to tell the landlord that the upward sloping lavatory drain is not acceptable and needs to be fixed.

I just had brain freeze-- funny since it was over 100 degrees today.
