2 inch adjustable shower drain question??

Maintenance. Sanitary tees are only allowed in a vertical position. The wye removes any risk of the water not flowing the right direction or a cable not going the right direction when gravity alone cannot be your helper.

On a vertical fitting, gravity trumps all. On a horizontal fitting, the lack of gravity trumps all.

a tee, lets the soap and hair back up into that illegal vent..that is why the base of the vent sholud be washed,

a combination,,,has a sweep to it. that chnnels the junk away from the vent to the drain.

BUT, how did you "buckle" that piece of pipe between 2 pipes that are not moving, burried in concrete?

only one way I know, you cut the pipe to short, then slid it half back. now the fitting is half in/out on both ends.

causing 2 things..

1 a leak
2 a ridge inside the pipe for hair/crap to catch on...

I have another queston in an existing shower that leaks from the 2nd floor to the first floor ceiling.

My Daughter and son-in-law, are in a two store home. When the run the shower on the 2nd floor, water leaks down through the 2nd floor into the ceiling of the 1st floor.

Two plumbers said the piping is correct, but the cocking wasn't done. Is this correct or is the drain not tighten correctly?

Anyone have ideas?
