Sure thing, buddy! Climb in one of those manlifts, take it up to full extension, making sure you got one of the 125' units, then let it run until it runs out of fuel.

I wonder if a paintball gun can shoot that high?

Make sure you do it in the 50 mph winds we had today. I thought my 45,000 pound excavator was gonna topple over.

Nah what's even better have 2 racing around parking lot with lots of speed bumps, amazing how much air you get over every bump, bonus points if you dump the other guy in the basket.

My three day old 3/4" impact died on me today. Hopefully the supply house will exchange it.

More guys milking it.

Don't it just drive you insane when you see how most guys approach work?

Me, I am always about how I can make sure that everybody has something to keep their hands and minds busy, but almost everyone else is quite content to have 1 or 2 people watch 1 other guy work.

I want my guys to be productive all day long. Three of my guys I don't have to even think they are sitting around and they do most of the production work. My super seems lazy to me but then again he has been in management for some time, he does great managing but I wish he would do more actual labor work like I do. Then I have two guys that I could fire tomorrow and I don't think we would notice. One I have to constantly keep on to keep busy and his quality of work is much better in his head then in reality. The other guy just doesn't know all that much but doesn't strive to learn either.

All in all there are hard working people and there are not.

phishfood, that sounds about like what happens when there is some cleaning or work of any type going on at my house. I'll be doing all the work and my brother and mother just sit around doing nothing. My mother used to like to "supervise" and would point at things she wanted me to pick up. My brother most of the time won't even stay around for more than 2 minutes before going back to play video games.

Chris, its a shame when you have workers like that who don't seem to care about doing a good job and who have to be monitored and encouraged constantly. It reminds me of theory x and theory y of management. In one, it posits that all workers are lazy and you have to ride them constantly to make them do their jobs. In the other it posits that all workers are good and trustworthy and will work hard and do a good job because of the pride and sense of accomplishment they get from it. Obviously its a mix of both and there are no absolutes.

I'm still trying to figure out why it is that the hard workers at Walmart constantly get fired and treated like ****, but the most lazy and worthless ones keep their jobs.

It's hard to be a working manager. I've failed at it before when the staff was to large.

Working manager can happen, but not in every case. It depends upon the manager, the project, the employees, how many employees are being managed, how much ordering, coordinating, & quality control needs to be done. Some times, I can work 5 or 6 hours a day. Other times, I need to work 10 or 11 hours just to keep up with my guys, check behind them, order material, attend meetings, do paperwork, etc, ad infinitum.

I had 20 people beneath me just in back. Another 10 up front. It was hard.
