I have had my water bill spiked up 6X last month.
The water company field engineer came, turned of water to the house, opened the water meter box and the meter was still spinning, he checked the meter and it's good, so he said that the water line is leaking.
I've called the leak detection company "American Leak Detection". The professional came out and determined the leak:
The pictures are attached.
Now, how much would patch this copper leaking pipe would cost?
I only contacted one plumber and he gave me a quote for $5,000 which I think is pretty expensive.
I am in Northern New Jersey.
Thank you.

I think it's 3 feet down.
I have this drawing attached.

Get at least three or four firm bids.

They will probably leave the backfill mounded high after the repair.
You should let it settle for six months to a year, then have the area leveled and either sodded or grass seed.
Easy to do yourself, or hire that out for a few hundred bucks.

You don’t need plumbers to bid on landscaping.

Okay, thank you. One thing is that water box is on neighbor property front yard (not exactly since there is right of way), but still I've talked to the neighbor and they are fine with me doing the repair as long as i can restore landscaping after. Should i ask plumbers just dig, fix the pipe and thats it?

That all sounds ridiculous, 3 feet down is nothing, I would just dig it up and fix it myself, if the city will allow it. One reason I don't live in a city, but they're getting closer!

Im in south jersey... 5k is crazy. Are you saying the leak is right next to the box?
