Toilet keeps doing mini-flushes

Looks like the chain from the flush lever might be too short and tight, so the flush valve can’t lower fully and seal properly.
 
That flush valve is typical Kohler crazy unneeded engineering anyway.

There are seals you can replace on that aqua piston.

Or just take that whole thing off, and install a normal flush valve.
 
You can replace that junk with a standard Fluidmaster or Korky flush valve.

You might want to replace the flush lever too, if that one ends up being too stubby with a new flush valve.
 
Hey Jeff - I've been reading Kohler documents and all indications are that yes, I need that new seal.
Will give that a go tonight.

I think Home Depot sells that seal.
It might come with a few other re-build parts.
