I have a customer with an old house built in probably the early 50's. The tub valves are leaking and I'd like to know if anyone can identify the make/model, and if any replacement parts are still available. It's a design I've never encountered before.
Thanks for any help.

I did not take pictures of those, but they are round like if you took a tennis ball and cut it in half, and each one has three raised ridges that taper down from the edge to flush at the screw hole. The screw head is exposed. The spout is just a standard tub spout with a pull up diverter for the shower.
here is a view from the side,

if you put the handle on the stem and use an adjustable wrench i bet the bottom threads off there may be a couple of o rings on the part that threads out. take the stem to a plumbing supply house not hd or lowes just guessing but kohler or american standard ????

I did try that but it didn't want to come apart. Of course I didn't want to apply too much force and break it leaving them with no water till the next day. To replace this valve I would need to remove the water heater under the kitchen counter and cut the wall open, something I would like to avoid if at all possible.

Found an old 62 year old hardware store where they specialize in faucet/valve repairs. Turns out they are Crane Dialese stems, and can be repaired/replaced.
Thanks guys for the assistance.
