Hey I live in on the 2nd floor of a 2 story apartment building. I was hearing this bubbling sound coming from my kitchen sink and had my landlord come to snake it out. A couple days later the bubbling noise happened again and I noticed it smelt awful. The weird thing is that I only used my sink once since it got cleaned out and I didn’t even use the sink that day. Does anyone know what could be the problem?

It sounds like you are losing your water seal in your trap, which is allowing that smell to come through.
The question is, what is causing the loss of water seal.
This video will give you an idea of possible causes.

Tom fohio is right your landlord has to spend sometime ,even for preventitive maintanance, snake the bld main, snake kitvhen sinks as far as the cable will go

And check vents on roof for obstructions, birds’ nests, smashed or pinched vents from roofers or other tradesmen working up there.

And snake down from up there while they are at it.
