Changing out a bathroom faucet. Trying to figure out how I attach the new lines to the existing water supply line. It looks like the entire shut off valve needs to be replaced but not sure what to use. Is there a way to adapt the existing shut off valve and the blue pex pipe to the new black supply lines? Shouldn’t be this complicated.

Can I cut the plastic braided line and use a sharkbite connector and attach from there. Nervous about cutting the blue pex

I have attached photos

Thanks to all.

Thats why I hate those types of valves. You have to cut the colored pex pipe and install new valves.

They do make sharkbite angle or in your case stright valves to help you out.

voletl is right, you need two Sharkbite straight shutoff valves.

1/2 in. Push-to-Connect x 3/8 in. O.D. Compression Chrome-Plated Brass Quarter-Turn Straight Stop Valve

Looks like you have 1/2 inch pex, and the best choice for the outlet end is 3/8 compression, which will attach to the 3/8 female nut on your new faucet supply lines.

There are other sizes, but 3/8 comp is most common.

Cut the pex lines very straight across, nice clean cuts, no burrs.
A fresh razor knife works ok, or you can get a pex cutter pretty cheap, for accurate clean cuts.

Clean off the pex pipe outer surfaces too, the Sharkbite seals with an o ring.

Be sure to insert the pex to proper depth inside the Sharkbite, mark the depth on the pex with a Sharpie.

Is that all the farther your braided supply lines come down. Doesn't look like they'll reach. If so you will have to put a
coupling in first then a piece in between that and the valve to raise it up or get
longer braided supply lines.
