Does anyone have a suggestion for removing the kitchen sprayer hose from the faucet, where the hose nut connected to the faucet doesn't drop below the granite countertop, but essentially sits up in the countertop? See this picture:

Looks like the hose might have been attached before the faucet assembly was mounted onto the countertop -- a very common practice. About the only way to remove it is, I would guess, to undo the large nuts holding the faucet onto the countertop, pull the assembly up to where you can get at the hose & nut, and do what you will.

The sprayer itself is leaking. I bought one of those "cheap" universal replacement sprayers, and it required to install new counter mounting attachments and other parts, where I simply couldn't just replace the twist off portion of the sprayer. Needless to say, the universal replacement was junk - plastic, and it leaked as well. The original answer to my post was how I had to get all of the sprayer components off - remove the nuts attached to the faucet.

Do you know the brand name?????? Is the nut rounded or doesit have sides......maybe you could buy a cheap open end wrench.heat it up and bend it at a right angleonly guessing because i dont know how much room you have

I'm actually good right now with how to get the sprayer assembly off, now that I know I have to remove the faucet from the countertop. The problem now is finding a good replacement sprayer. I bought a Danco Kitchen Sink Sprayer (fits most) and it seemed to be made of plastic or delicate metal, and even this replacement leaks. I tightened according to specifications. The faucet and sprayer (I'm trying to replace) I have are Moen, from at least 2006. There are no model number markings I can find. The faucet is two handles with a goose neck.

Moen should be able to find a sprayer that will work for you.

Take a picture of the faucet.
Call their customer service and describe the problem, and describe your faucet, and tell them the age.

They might need you to email good clear pics of the faucet.

They might even send a sprayer or sprayer head for free.

I should have tried customer support, but I didn't see this post in time. I went back to the store and found a Moen replacement sprayer, which I was able to install, without relative ease, compared to the Danco I purchased (and since returned). I still had to remove the faucet to detach the existing hose, as the Moen replacement faucet came with a new hose with quick connect. All is good, for now. Thanks to all for the insight. When I need to replace the faucet itself, I have more confidence and experience now, where I should be able to replace it myself.
