I have a bathtub drain plug with a lever and drum. The drum fell off and I want to get it out without tearing it all apart. I tried using a flexible grabber but can't get a grip on the drum. Is there something that I could use to pull it out?

Make a hook on the end of a coat hanger and fish it out

Tried that. Couldn't get a hold of the thing. What makes it tougher is I can't see in there.

Coat hanger sounds good, keep trying, keep changing the configuration of the J hook you form on the end, big, small, sideways.

Maybe try just a small L shape for a hook end.
With a very slight bend less than 90 degrees.

If it has fallen way down inside the trap, you might need to open up the ceiling below and cut off the trap to get it out.

You can buy a waterproof inspection camera with a camera head on a stiff but bendable snake type of cable.
They also have a threaded end to attach things such as a hook.

You can find them for as low as $30.00 on Amazon and other sites.

FE7E3396-A13B-4E8D-94BB-CE7BBD9D5FFD.jpeg You are trying to grab the little struts across the top of the plunger stopper.

Some have three, like in this pic, some just have a single straight strut across the middle.

Squirt some penetrating oil down in the overflow so it goes over the plunger. If its in there real tight you will
have to take it apart in the back. Can you make an access panel.
