Replacement O-Ring

Hey all,

We have a Hudson Reed A383 body jet in our shower. One of the o-rings / washers / gasket (not sure which is correct term) recently broke, and I'm trying to track down the correct part to replace it with. It's a ball joint, and the gasket is domed so the ball can fit inside it.

Outside diameter is approx 13/16 inch
Inside diameter is approx 5/16 inch
Height is approx 1/4 inch

Any ideas?

There is likely a parts diagram with parts numbers.

I just finished trying. No luck at all. You have to call. They don't even show that model number.

Yes, they guarantee it will take 20 years to get new parts, haha.

Hey thanks for the quick responses! Tried calling the mfg yesterday but not very helpful. Best they had was a $30 washer kit that might have one that fits.

Other thought I had was just buy one of those sheets of rubber that you can cut into your own washer. Can try some arts and crafts and just stuff it in there as a last resort.

It did cross my mind that maybe you could find something but being curved like that makes me wonder. Is the wall thicker at one edge vs the other?
I did find something that looked very similar but it was for a Speakman shower head, and more importantly, it didn't include dimensions.
The cut your own system may work???

How old is yours?
Isn’t there a warranty on the body spray?
Don’t they honor their warranty?

You can always just buy a whole new body spray.
My Amazon link above shows about $27.00 plus about $8.00 shipping.
You might need a different color of metal finish, if you want to have the actual spray head as a spare.

Or take all the parts to a local plumbing supply house, they might have something on the shelf that fits.
That ball and socket joint system is similar to what most shower heads use, so I think you will find something compatible in a supply house.
