Hello,

Just in the last day or two we've had some issues with our kitchen sink. First we had a slow drain, then after some drain cleaner we noticed water on the floor in a utility room, under the dishwasher, and a wet spot on the brick outside.

I cut a hole in the cabinet back to find the source and l found the 2 copper lines coming out of the slab in their plastic sheaths.

When the water is running down the drain at the kitchen sink the hot water leg going to the dishwasher starts leaking shortly after the water has been running. Water gushes from between the sheath and the copper.

When the sink is ran into a bucket (not down the drain) no water comes from between the sheath and the copper.

Here's a video of it:

A plumber will be here in a few days I just wanted to get some advice prior. Does anybody have an idea of what the issue might be ?

Thank You In Advance,

The drain line is broken under the slab and feeding back into the “protective sleeve” around your feed line.

You will have to dig.

Dig deeply into your wallet.

Just kidding, but this actually could be expensive.

Hopefully your plumber will be clever, and will find a solution that does not involve too much breaking up of the slab.
